A Big Change Part 2

[Part 2]

[The show starts with a brief recapitulation of Part 1. Statice receives a pair of letters, one being from his parents and the other from Twilight. He reads one of them and is shocked at its contents. The next scene shows the Mane Six happily discussing about Statice being knighted by Twilight as a reward for his serving Equestria since he moved to Ponyville. The next scene shows Statice being knighted by Twilight and then going into a dinner date, noticing that she is behaving differently than usual. Statice discovers that Twilight is Chrysalis in disguise and is knocked unconscious by the queen’s powerful kick. In the castle, the rest of the Mane Six notice that everypony, including some of them, are falling asleep and decide to leave the castle. By the time that they leave, only Applejack and Rainbow Dash are still conscious just to be incapacitated by Chrysalis herself. Celestia and Luna are left too weak to fight back against the Changelings that gave them sleeping drinks and get captured. Statice wakes up and discovers that Twilight has been captured by Chrysalis before the episode began. The recapitulation ends with Chrysalis revealing to Twilight that Statice received a letter from his parents inviting him to live with them and that he plans to leave Equestria. Chrysalis leaves Statice and Twilight in their cell, mocking them as Twilight is distraught by Statice’s decision to leave Equestria.]

[The episode resumes with Statice trying to move out of his prison but being unable to move a limb or use magic because of the goo that the Changelings put on him. Twilight’s mood is somber and avoidant as she doesn’t even look at Statice in the eye.]

Statice: [protesting] You’ve been in this situation before, Twilight. Can you give me some advice on how to get out of this mess?

Twilight Sparkle: [darkly] Oh…now you want my opinion?

Statice: [angrily] You want to start this now?

Twilight Sparkle: [angry and hurt] After all this time, you’re going to leave us! Doesn’t our friendship mean anything to you?

Statice: [offended] Of course it means something to me! But my parents mean more to me! I’ve wanted to talk to them since I accidentally turned myself into a ghost in their vicinity. Now that they can perceive me again I want nothing more than to spend time with them.

Twilight Sparkle: [angrily] If that is what you wanted then why did you decide to stay in Equestria with us?

Statice: [unsurely but then defensively] I don’t have to explain this to you, Twilight! I have my reasons to change my mind about staying in Equestria!

Twilight Sparkle: [turns her head away] Were you even going to tell me about your decision?

Statice: [guiltily] I was going to tell you today but then I heard about my knighting ceremony. Everypony was so proud of me, especially you, well Chrysalis acting as you, but you should have seen how they were proud of me. I couldn’t bear telling them the truth or having you and the princess cancel the knighting ceremony.

Twilight Sparkle: [takes a deep breath] This isn’t the time to talk about this. We need to find the girls, the princesses, and anypony else if we want to have a chance against the Changelings.

Spike: [offscreen] I know where they are!

Twilight Sparkle and Statice: [surprised] Spike!

Spike: [happily] That’s me! We were put in neighbor cells!

Statice: [genuinely happy] I’m glad that you’re safe.

Spike: [angrily] Keep your happiness to yourself, deserter!

Statice: [awkwardly surprised] You heard about the letter right?

Spike: [sounding hurt] I did! And I can’t believe it, Statice! You were my best friend!

Twilight Sparkle: [raises an eyebrow] I thought I was your best friend!

Spike: [annoyed] He’s my best male friend, Twilight! And he’s going to leave me! I don’t want to be the only dude in a group of girls again! I need somepony of the same gender as me with whom to do boy stuff!

Twilight Sparkle: [apologetically] Sorry about that, Spike.

Spike: [bitterly] You’re not supposed to be the one apologizing to me.

Statice: [groans] Can we do this sometime later? We have to find a way to get out of here!

Twilight Sparkle: [nods her head] He’s right, Spike! You can argue with him later!

[The camera shows Spike burning his cocoon. His fire is weak but it is slowly blackening his sticky prison.]

Spike: [confidently] I’m on it!

[Spike continues breathing fire until he finally breaks the cocoon. The baby dragon pumps his fist in victory before he goes to the cell door and burns the lock, releasing himself. He burns the lock of Twilight and Statice’s cell before he goes on to release Twilight.]

Twilight Sparkle: [nuzzles Spike] I knew I could count on you!

Statice: [annoyed] Speak for yourself, Twilight! I’m still trapped!

[Twilight and Spike glare at him. The purple alicorn uses her magic to destroy Statice’s cocoon, making him fall into his haunches. The green stallion groans as he stands up and rubs his rump. He is no longer wearing the suit that he put on for the knighting ceremony in the previous episode. Twilight and Spike turn their backs on them, ignoring him. They get out of the cell and Twilight is surprised to be back in the crystal catacombs on which she was locked during  “A Canterlot Wedding Part 2” but now modified as a Changeling hive.]

Twilight Sparkle: [stunned] This place has changed a lot since Chrysalis locked me there during the wedding.

Spike: [sadly] It’s a shame. I wanted to eat some of those crystals. I can still eat them but not while they are covered in Changeling goo.

Twilight Sparkle: [critically] Where is everypony else?

Spike: [gravely] They are all trapped in cells, Twilight! Chrysalis put that spell she put on Shining Armor to our friends so that they won’t escape the cell.

Twilight Sparkle: [puts her hooves on Spike’s shoulder] And what can you tell me about the princesses?

Spike: [gulps] Chrysalis took advantage of their weaknesses to suck their love for their subjects. Then she sucked the love out of Shining Armor and Cadence to make sure that they won’t have the power to stop her.

Twilight Sparkle: [distraught] She learned from the previous attempt at taking over Canterlot. How did you find out about her plans?

Spike: [awkwardly] She bragged about it to our friends as she visited them so that she could mock them.

Statice: [snorts] Then she hasn’t learned anything from the previous time! You don’t tell anypony your secret plan! Now she’s brought forth her own defeat!

Spike: [confused] How? She has sucked the love and power of three princesses and Shining Armor! The worst part is that her subjects have been feeding from the guests’ love to be better fighters than ever!

Statice: [sarcastically] Oh sure! What should we do when we’re facing a threat that not even the princesses can beat. Oh yeah, we use the Elements of Harmony to get rid of those bugs. Maybe being a stone decoration for a thousand years will teach them not to mess with us for good this time.

Twilight Sparkle: [shakes her head] I doubt it. The last time we attempted to recover the Elements we were captured by her army. If we try to get them back then we will be captured again.

Statice: [rolls his eyes] Twilight that was the past and this is the present. You’re an alicorn now. I’m sure that you have grown in power ever since the wedding. I’m confident that your friends are stronger than they used to be since the wedding.

Twilight Sparkle: [exasperated] It doesn’t change the fact that the Changelings have also gotten stronger, Statice! If we are to win this war we have to find a way to defeat them without catching their attention.

Spike: [raises his claw] I think that we should gather our friends first.

[A clip shows Spike burning five locks in different locations and Twilight using her magic to break cocoons in order to release her friends. For some reason, none of them are wearing the dresses that they wore during the knighting ceremony. Once they are all reunited, they engage into a group hug. When the hug ends, Rainbow Dash notices Statice and gets mad. She flies at him and socks him in the arm.]

Statice: [yelps] Ow! What was that all about?

Rainbow Dash: [puts her hooves on her hips] Chrysalis told us about the letter, Statice! You’re going to leave us and when you were not going to tell us!

Statice: [angrily] I was going to tell you! The problem is that I got distracted with the ceremony and how everypony was happy for him…I was going to tell you, girls, later.

Applejack: [disapprovingly] Define later. Were you going to tell us by the time that we returned to Ponyville or you were planning on keeping the secret until the last day?

Statice: [offended] You know me better than that, Applejack!

Rarity: [venomously] Do we, Statice? You were given a chance to stay with your parents before and you decided to stay in Equestria with us. Why did you change your mind this time?

Statice: [reluctantly] It’s complicated!

Pinkie Pie: [angrily] No! Making new party recipes for my friends is complicated because I have to figure out if the taste is good enough for everypony. Changing your mind about a decision is something easy because you are given a reason. What is your reason to leave Equestria and us behind?

Fluttershy: [weakly] Girls…I don’t think that we should badger Statice for his decision. This is his choice and we have to respect that regardless of how much it hurts us.

[The girls calm down a little bit.]

Rainbow Dash: [groans] Fine. But I want a good explanation after all of this is over, Statice! First thing we got to do is kick some Changeling flank.

Twilight Sparkle: [shakes her head] We can’t do that, girls! The Changelings have gotten stronger since our last encounter with them at my brother’s wedding. They’ve absorbed all of the love from their guests to increase their power.

Rainbow Dash: [dismissively] They got stronger so what’s the big deal? We also got stronger too and we are more than capable of taking down lots of Changelings together, Twilight!

Twilight Sparkle: [gravely] Those Changelings were not fed back then, Rainbow Dash. They were not at their full capacity. Even though we beat a group of them by ourselves we were still beaten thanks to their sheer numbers. Just imagine what they can do now that they are fully powered!

Pinkie Pie: [frowns] That doesn’t sound good!

Statice: [pensively] I think that I have an idea.

Rainbow Dash: [bitterly] Now you’re part of our team?

Twilight Sparkle: [dismissively] Cut it, Rainbow Dash! What is your idea, Statice?

Statice: [sighs] Back when I was interacting with Chrysalis, disguised as you, I noticed that she was acting weird.

Twilight Sparkle: [rolls her eyes] She is not a good actress, Statice. Her inability to at least pretend to be Cadence is what got me suspicious of her when I first met her.

Statice: [shakes his head] No. I think that she’s taken acting lessons. She at least bothered to act like you throughout the whole night.

Pinkie Pie: [nods her head] He’s right, Twilight. The previous weeks Chrysalis totally nailed your character. It’s like she was you but not entirely you. It doesn’t excuse us not finding out about you but…

Applejack: [covers Pinkie’s mouth] What we’re trying to say is that Chrysalis totally imitated you, Twilight. We didn’t realize that it was her until Statice told us that there was something wrong with her. Sorry for letting her deceive us like that again, Twilight.

Twilight Sparkle: [in comforting tone] It’s okay, Applejack. They deceived all of us. By the way, what gave Chrysalis away, Statice?

Statice: [awkwardly] First she took me to dinner…

Twilight Sparkle: [alarmed] She did what?

Statice: [awkwardly] She took me to dinner to talk about my knight duties in private. That’s when she started acting weird.

Pinkie Pie: [giggles] Statice put extra sugar on Chrysalis’ tea!

Twilight Sparkle: [annoyed] In essence, you were going to sweeten my tea to a ridiculous margin, right?

Statice: [exasperated] It was just a little joke, Twilight! Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, and Spike found it hilarious.

Spike: [smiling a little] It kind of is, Twilight.

Twilight Sparkle: [rubs her eyes with her hoof] And then what else happened?

Statice: [awkwardly] Chrysalis liked the tea way too much. She drank her tea in one gulp and then she drank mine as well. She spat out my tea because she didn’t have enough sugar and then she drank from the pitcher as she poured all of the sugar into her mouth.

Spike: [shudders] Sounds like Twilight when she eats a burger!

Twilight Sparkle: [offended] Hey!

Statice: [continues] I felt that there was something wrong so I made more tea but this time I filled it with every sweeting thing at my disposal. Chrysalis drank it in one gulp and then she turned crazy and got rid of her disguise.

Twilight Sparkle: [fascinated and levitating a quill and scroll] Interesting. Changelings have a weakness for sweet flavors.

Rainbow Dash: [annoyed] You’re taking notes on this?

Twilight Sparkle: [defensively] I didn’t know that about Changelings. None of the books in Equestria about Changelings have that fact. This may prove useful for future generations to come.

Applejack: [grumbles] What are you going to do? You’re going to make a test by offering a suspicious pony with sugary treats until you see if he is a Changeling?

Pinkie Pie: [excitingly] Ooh! I think that I am a Changeling right now!

Rarity: [disapprovingly] This is not the moment to be thinking of getting sweets, Pinkie Pie! We have to find a way to get rid of the Changelings.

Twilight Sparkle: [smiles deviously] I think that I figured a plan to get rid of the Changelings without attracting too much attention.

Pinkie Pie: [happily] Does it involve candy?

Twilight Sparkle: [grins] Yes. It will involve lots and lots of candy!

[Pinkie Pie smiles, making the squeaky noise. The camera moves to several Changelings holding ponies as hostages and sucking their love from their bodies. Twilight levitates a water balloon filled with sweetened water and throws it into a wall. The Changelings get happy and fly after the splattered remains of the balloon. They clash with each other and get into a big ball of violence. Twilight and the Mane Six use the chance to release the prisoners from their cocoons. Rarity uses her magic to trap the Changelings in a crystal prison.]

Twilight Sparkle: [to the hostages] Hold on to Statice! He’s going to take you out of Canterlot until you can come back!

[The ponies hustle up to Statice, who uses his Archive to select Ponyville as his teleportation site. Statice vanishes with the ponies and then reappears without them.]

Statice: [happily] That’s the first group. We have to get more!

[Pinkie Pie saves more ponies as she uses her party cannon to throw a cake at the ceiling. The Changelings fly after the cake, leaving the ponies to be teleported into a safe location by Statice. Applejack uses her lasso to tie up the Changeling and prevent them from moving.]

Twilight Sparkle: [rears on her hind legs and mover her forelegs] Keep moving forward!

[Fluttershy is flying around with a bag of sweets and being chased by Changelings. The yellow Pegasus is terrified as she flies at her fastest. When the Changelings are about to capture her, Rainbow Dash flies fast around them and creates a tornado that throws them against walls and knocks them unconscious. Statice uses his teleportation to take the prisoners into a new destination. The clip now shows all of the Changelings captured and the Mane Six celebrating their victory over them.]

Rainbow Dash: [triumphantly] That’s what they get for messing with Equestria!

Pinkie Pie: [happily] Well I can’t blame them for failing. Who wouldn’t resist the sweet flavor of pastries?

Twilight Sparkle: [gravely] We got rid of the Changelings in the catacombs but we still have the Changelings in the castle. We cannot get rid of them all. Furthermore, we have to find the other princesses and my brother.

Rarity: [past Twilight’s back in comfort] There, there, darling. All we need to do is some stealth. We don’t need to beat an army of Changelings to save our friends. All we have to do is recover the Elements of Harmony and let them do all the job.

Applejack: [stares to the ceiling] Well we’re going to need to take a lift if we are going to get back to the surface.

Fluttershy: [meekly] Maybe we can use Statice’s Archive to teleport back to Canterlot.

Spike: [hesitantly] I think that’s too risky. There is a chance that Changelings may be waiting for us at the center of Canterlot.

Statice: [pops in front of the girls] Then we’ll have to escalate our way back to Canterlot the old fashioned way.

Twilight Sparkle: [gravely] It appears so.

[The group moves forward and they are all climbing the catacombs. There is a lot of Changeling obstacles so they have to make pauses for Twilight to remove solid Changeling goo to keep moving. As they sit on one of those obstructions, Spike makes a reluctant question to Statice.]

Spike: [weakly] Why are you leaving us, Statice?

[The Mane Six stare at Spike and then at Statice in shock.]

Statice: [takes a deep breath] I don’t think that this is the appropriate time to talk about this, Spike.

Spike: [determined] My best male friend is going to leave Equestria. I deserve to know this and so do the girls, Statice!

Statice: [sighs] My father wants me to go back to Hobuck with him because he wants me to help him become mayor.

Pinkie Pie: [interested] Ooh! Will he be like Mayor Mare then? Will he dress exactly like her?

Twilight Sparkle: [stunned] I didn’t know that Hobuck had a position for mayor?

Statice: [awkwardly] Me neither. But my father wants to become the mayor to improve the welfare of Hobuck. He wants to make the town on which he grew up in to be a part of Equestria again. Since I am Twilight’s student, he thinks that I could promote the meaning of harmony across Hobuck and to start a reconciliation between the town and Equestria.

Fluttershy: [smiles a little bit] That sounds like a good idea, Statice.

Pinkie Pie: [supportively] Yeah! It would be like the Crystal Empire all over again!

Statice: [thoughtfully] Hobuck is my father’s home. It’s my family’s home. My family was among the original habitants of that place. As such, my father wants to return Hobuck to its original glory. He needs me girls.

Applejack: [encouragingly] I guess I can let it slip. I’d do the same if my family asked me for help.

Rainbow Dash: [pensively] You’re not going to forget about us, right?

Statice: [shakes his head] No.

Rainbow Dash: [smiles] Then I’ll let you go there. But don’t forget to visit us or send letters to us. You’re still a part of this group!

Rarity: [dignified] Well, I suppose that your departure to Hobuck is necessary. That town looks dreadful. I’m sure that it needs some remodeling. Just make sure to call us when you’re ready to show us around town.

Statice: [nods his head] I promise to personally give you the tour.

[Statice looks at Spike. The baby dragon gets tears and sniffles.]

Statice: [soothingly] This isn’t a goodbye, Spike.

Spike: [hugs Statice] I know. It’s just that I’m going to miss you.

Statice: [gives Spike his keys] Make sure that Discord doesn’t break my castle while I’m gone, Spike.

[Spike takes the keys. He sees Twilight has already finished breaking the Changeling goo. He moves on to speak.]

Statice: [reluctantly] Twilight.

Twilight Sparkle: [calmly] We’ll talk about it later.

[The Mane Six, Statice, and Spike move out of the hole and see Canterlot. It’s been captured by the Changelings, all of which are vigilant.]

Rainbow Dash: [annoyed] This sucks! How are we even going to sneak in on them?

Statice: [smiles at Twilight] How good are you with the Light Camouflage Spell?

Twilight Sparkle: [confidently] With my magical power I think that I’m capable of making
everypony invisible. How is your Sound Buffer Spell?

Statice: [nods his head] As long as we all stick together I think that I’m good enough to hide the sound of our hooves moving from the Changelings.

[Twilight and Statice light their horns with magic. The group instinctively huddles together before Twilight and Statice combine their magic. They all disappear from sight as the camera moves slowly and silently from the city to the tower on which the Elements of Harmony are locked in. There is a small group of Changelings waiting at the doors in order to prevent anypony from accessing the Elements. The Mane Six, Statice, and Spike materialize into a corner, unseen by the guards.]

Rainbow Dash: [whispers energetically] I say we can take these punks…

Rarity: [hissing irritably] Hush, Rainbow Dash! We cannot do that! It’s too risky. What will happen if Chrysalis comes into the room? She won’t give us time to use the Elements
properly.

Applejack: [observes the Changelings] Well we have to get rid of them some way or another. It’s either fighting them or getting them out of here.

Pinkie Pie: [sadly] I still have some ammunition left but there won’t be enough to distract Chrysalis.

Fluttershy: [supportively] It’s okay, Pinkie Pie. Any little help is valuable.

Twilight Sparkle: [critically] Don’t worry. We only need the Elements of Harmony to defeat Chrysalis. We won’t have  to use the sweets to distract her anymore after this.

[Pinkie Pie sighs. She gets a determined frown before loading her party cannon with random sweets on her mane.]

Statice: [to Rarity] Have you ever wondered how she managed to keep those sweets on her mane without getting it sticky?

Rarity: [annoyed] It’s just…

Statice: [in defeated tone] I know that Pinkie is just being Pinkie but still.

[Statice is interrupted when Pinkie Pie fires her party cannon. The sweets projectile hits the wall, causing the Changeling guards to go berserk and to tackle the wall. They all get knocked unconscious in their drive to get the cake. The Mane Six, Spike, and Statice stare at the scene in surprise.]

Statice: [deadpan] That was easy. And I’m not talking about it being suspiciously easy.

Twilight Sparkle: [dismissively] I think that we should focus on getting the Elements of Harmony.

[Twilight uses her magic to open the door to the Elements of Harmony. She levitates the necklaces and tiara into herself and her friends. They all pose heroically before the camera switches to normal.]

Rainbow Dash: [excitingly] I think it is time to kick some queen sized Changeling flank!

Statice: [to Spike] You should leave, Spike.

Spike: [protesting] I want to help!

Statice: [annoyed] You are no Element of Harmony and Chrysalis plays dirty. There is a chance that she may use you as a…

[Spike is surrounded by a green aura and is taken into Chrysalis’ embrace. The Mane Six gasp while Statice gets annoyed.]

Statice: [deadpan] Embrace!

Twilight Sparkle: [lights her horn with magic] Let go of Spike.

Queen Chrysalis: [teasingly] I don’t think so. You’re going to blast me with the Elements of Harmony the second I let him go. At least with him on my grip I can use him as  a leverage against you.

Rarity: [angrily] Leave Spike out of this, you fiend!

Queen Chrysalis: [laughs evilly] You think that I’m going to let my only advantage be taken away from me? I’ll use it to its fullest advantage.

Pinkie Pie: [protesting] He has a name. He is Spike. He is not a thing that you can use for your benefit!

Queen Chrysalis: [rolls her eyes] I don’t care about your opinion. Hand over the Elements
or I will suck the love out of the baby dragon.

Rainbow Dash: [snorts] Watch it, lady!

Queen Chrysalis: [lights her horn with magic] You watch it! I have absorbed the love out of three princesses and Shining Armor. My magical power has skyrocketed to previously unattainable levels. Defeating me without the Elements of Harmony is not a choice.

Fluttershy: [worryingly] What are you going to do to Spike after we let you go?

Queen Chrysalis: [thinks for a second] I think that I will keep him for some time until I get you back on your cells. I need to make sure that you behave this time. I can’t let my final power meals to be left to waste.

Statice: [angrily] Stay away from my friends!

[Chrysalis bursts into laughter as Statice glares at her.]

Queen Chrysalis: [laughs malevolently] You think you can threaten me? You’re no real menace to my plans1

Statice: [annoyed] I figured out your identity!

Queen Chrysalis: [mockingly] And it took you weeks to find out and all because of the Changeling’s natural drive towards sweets.

Statice: [offended] You also gave yourself away with your behavior. There was no way that Twilight knew how to flirt or how to look that beautiful at the knighting ceremony!

Twilight Sparkle: [offended] Hey! I’m standing right here listening to what you’re saying!

Queen Chrysalis: [rolls her eyes] It doesn’t matter. You found out the truth too late. I guess those acting lessons paid off after all.

[Chrysalis makes a point to leave but she turns around and uses her magic to restrain Statice and the Mane Six. The group is unable to do magic before Chrysalis sticks Spike into the ceiling in a Changeling cocoon.]

Queen Chrysalis: [satisfied] There. I think that I will settle with absorbing the love you six have for each other.

[Chrysalis opens her mouth and sucks a green mist out of the Mane Six and Spike. The ponies and the dragon look severely weakened after getting their love drained from them. Statice can only look back in horror as Chrysalis gets close to him. She opens her mouth and sucks the love out of him.]

Queen Chrysalis: [speaking while eating] Kind of disappointed. You used to breed high pressure emotion. I can assume that you have become more open with others.

Statice: [grunting angrily] Give me back my love!

Queen Chrysalis: [smirks diabolically] I refuse. Your love tastes too delicious. It’s not Shining Armor and Cadence’s quality but it still is a decent meal.

Statice: [threateningly] If you want to suck the love out of me then I will suck it right out of you.

Queen Chrysalis: [confused] How are you going to…

[Statice places his lips on Chrysalis and hugs her in a romantic kiss. The Mane Six and Spike are left slack jawed at the event in front of him. Twilight looks slightly angry and with a twitchy eye. There is green mist between Statice and Chrysalis’ muzzles, indicating the love that Chrysalis is stealing from Statice. The love mist turns into a rainbow mist as Chrysalis breaks the kiss and screams, releasing a rainbow light. The rainbow light hits the Mane Six and activates the Elements of Harmony, causing them to shoot a blast at Chrysalis. The blast causes an explosion of harmony to spread across Canterlot and consume all of the Changelings. The Mane Six and Spike are back into the ground, looking safe and sound. They all stare at each other in surprise before Spike breaks the silence.]

Spike: [alarmed] What in the world just happened? Statice kissed Chrysalis and the next thing I remember is Chrysalis shooting a magic beam from her mouth that hit Twilight and the girls, and then the Elements of Harmony shot Chrysalis. I don’t even…

Statice: [extends a hoof] Cut it out, Spike! I’m not even sure what I did. I just attempted to suck the love that she stole from me right out of her.

Pinkie Pie: [thoughtfully] Maybe when you were sucking your love out of her you accidentally caused her to release the love that she sucked out of us.

Rarity: [disturbed] Can we please refer to it as drained? I don’t like that vulgar term.

Applejack: [satisfied] I won’t complain! We got the job done. Nice work, Statice…I think!

Statice: [smiles a little bit] It wasn’t that bad. She was all hard but her lips tasted like honey!

[Twilight walks to Statice and slaps him on the face. Everypony winces in sympathy.]

Twilight Sparkle: [angrily] Don’t take this lightly, Statice! That was a very risky idea you pulled out!

Statice: [scoffs] Well I was going to get my love drained out of me. I might as well try something. Why do you even care anyway? Are you jealous or something?

[Twilight blushes and then gets angry. The camera goes to Statice, who is expecting an answer. The answer that he receives is Twilight’s hooves on his face. Everypony winces at the kick that Statice received.]

Twilight Sparkle: [huffs angrily] I’m going to look after the princesses and my brother.

[The rest of the Mane Six walk to Statice and check him out. They grimace when they see Twilight’s hoof prints on Statice’s face.]

Spike: [turns his head away] That looks like it hurts a lot.

Rainbow Dash: [scoffs] Serves him right for pushing it.

Applejack: [shakes her head] I won’t lie Statice but you had that one coming.

Rarity: [disapprovingly] Indeed. Twilight’s behavior may have been over the top but you shouldn’t have provoked her like that.

Statice: [annoyed] I wasn’t provoking her!

Pinkie Pie: [trying to be supportive] If you want I can make “I’m Sorry” cakes for you and Twilight. That way you can both apologize and forgive each other.

Fluttershy: [grabs Statice’s face with her hooves] I think that we should get Statice into an infirmary. Those are some nasty bruises that you got there.

Statice: [dismissively] I have a Healing Spell, Fluttershy. I can get rid of these bruises in no time.

[The camera goes to Statice’s face as Twilight’s hoof prints vanish from his face. Statice looks up and sees that there is some green dust spreading into the air. The Mane Six, Spike, and Statice raise their heads. They all see the Changelings are now fairies and are happily spreading magical dust above them.]

Applejack: [surprised] Are those Changelings flying above us?

Pinkie Pie: [shakes her head] I don’t think so, Applejack? The Changelings are mean but these ponies look nice. Maybe they want to be friends with us!

Twilight Sparkle: [stunned] What happened to the Changelings?

Princess Celestia: [offscreen] I think that I can give you the answer to that question?

[Twilight gasps happily as she runs and hugs the princesses and Shining Armor.]

Princess Luna: [stares at the ceiling] The Elements of Harmony work in ways that not even Celestia and me, their former users, can’t even understand.

Princess Celestia: [smiles at the Changelings] Sometimes the Elements will lock their target into a prison or turn remove the darkness out of them.

Princess Cadence: [approvingly] It appears that the Elements removed the Changelings’ compulsive need to feed on love and replaced it with the need to spread it across Equestria.

Rainbow Dash: [stunned] Wait a second! Are you saying that when we used the Elements of Harmony on Chrysalis we created a new species?

[The princesses nod their heads.]

Rainbow Dash: [in celebrating tone] This is so awesome!

Twilight Sparkle: [confused] Does that mean that they are no longer Changelings?

Princess Celestia: [at loss of words] Maybe they’re no longer Changelings.

Princess Luna: [pensively] We’re going to have to come up with a new name for this new species.

Statice: [smiles] How about we name them Flutter ponies?

Everypony: [surprised] Flutter ponies?

Statice: [shrugs his shoulders] They are as adorable as Fluttershy.

[Fluttershy blushes a little bit but Twilight looks mildly annoyed. The next scene shows Statice being in another ceremony with Celestia, Luna, and Cadence.]

Princess Celestia: [proudly] In base to the most recent events, Statice shall be made a knight for his efforts in saving Canterlot from a second Changeling invasion.

Princess Luna: [proudly] Furthermore, he shall be given a medal of bravery for helping the Elements of Harmony to defeat  Queen Chrysalis after she had drained us from our magic.

Princess Cadence: [rewardingly] Finally, we would also like to thank Statice for being the main cause for the purification of the Changelings. It is with great joy that I introduce you to the Flutter ponies!

[The Flutter ponies, led by a fairy Chrysalis fly happily around the Canterlot citizens, spreading their magic dusts into them. The ponies all look  happy to be friends with the former Changelings. Derpy actually shakes hooves with Chrysalis, who gives her a friendly hug in response. Twilight walks into the stadium. She at first looks sternly at Statice but then she relaxes.]

Twilight Sparkle: [tenderly] Today, I am proud that my student has helped me and my friends in the protection of Equestria. I could not feel any prouder of having taken him under my wing. It is because of this that I officially accept him as my knight!

[Statice is stunned at Twilight’s act but he is stopped from asking about it by the round of approval that he gets from the ponies. Twilight pushes him away with her muzzle so that he can stand in front of the crowd. He nervously lifts a hoof and watches as the crowd cheers for him. The green stallion gulps before he speaks.]

Statice: [respectfully] This is a great honor for me. It really is. I never gave importance to my acts. I always thought that I was doing my job as Twilight’s student and temporal replacement at first. To be knighted for all of my services, it caught me by surprise. What I’m trying to say is that it’s a pleasure to have served Equestria thus far and I intend to do so in the future.

[Twilight is now stunned at Statice’s promise. She smiles tenderly at him as he enters into the castle.]

Twilight Sparkle: [softly] Did you really mean it?

Statice: [nods his head] Yes. This is where my friends live. There is no way that I am abandoning Equestria. I’ll be back to you. I promise.

[Twilight sheds happy tears as she embraces Statice. The rest of the Mane Six and Spike join in on the hug. Statice smiles at them and returns the gesture. The scene changes to Statice hugging Discord.]

Discord: [sniffling with a handkerchief] I’ll miss you, old chum.

Statice: [teasingly] I’m coming back. And who are you calling old chum? Have you taken a
look at your eyebrows lately, grandpa?

[Discord and Statice burst into laughter before sharing a last hug.]

Discord: [waves at Statice] I’ll take care of the castle, Statice.

Statice: [waves back at Discord] Try to keep the place in one piece, roomie!

[The camera goes back to Ponyville, where Statice is given a goodbye party by the Mane Six and Ponyville. Several photos are snapped featuring Statice and other Ponyville citizens. One photo shows a teary Big Macintosh hugging Statice and nearly breaking his wrists. Another photo shows Aloe and Lotus giving Statice an immediate massage after his back breaking. There is a group photo of Statice being hugged by the Crusaders, with Sweetie Belle kissing him on the cheek. The next photo shows Derpy giving Statice a muffin and Statice awkwardly accepting it]

Statice: [smirks at Pinkie Pie] You outdid yourself with this party, Pinkie!

Pinkie Pie: [gets a camera] You missed a photo!

[Pinkie Pie whistles and gets the Mane Six and Spike to hug Statice before she takes the photo. The ponies continue to party until it’s nighttime. The group leaves Ponyville and goes into a shore, where they are greeted by the other princesses.]

Princess Celestia: [bows to Statice] It’s a shame that you have to leave, Statice. You’re one of the few ponies who doesn’t care about my rank and treats me like a normal pony.

Statice: [scoffs dismissively] You can go to Hobuck every once in a while. Believe me, nopony cares about authority there so you won’t have to worry about being a princess there.

Princess Celestia: [smiles awkwardly] I’ll keep that in mind.

Princess Luna: [extends her hoof at Statice] Despite our differences, I can see that you are a hero by heart, Statice. I wish you luck in your mission to reconnect Hobuck with Equestria.

Statice: [kisses Luna’s hoof] I’ll be happy to tell you about my success once I completed my mission.

Princess Luna: [giggles] I guess you’re not the disrespectful hooligan that I thought that you were.

Princess Cadence: [hugs Statice] I’m glad that you have a purpose ahead of you, Statice! You have changed so much from the young colt that I met years ago.

Statice: [gratefully] Thank you for introducing me to the idea of love and friendship, Cadence. You were right. My life felt more complete when I got to make friends.

[Cadence smiles and kisses Statice’s cheek. The stallion groans a little bit as he rubs his cheek with a blush on his face. Shining Armor walks in and offers him his hoof.]

Shining Armor: [cordially] I have a spot from the Royal Guards just for you. I can arrange for you to be a lieutenant. The Royal Guard could use some out of Equestria experience training.

Statice: [smirks a little] I’ll think about it. But I won’t settle with being beneath you in rank.

Shining Armor: [smiles teasingly] I guess that smug side of yours is never going to disappear.

[Shining Armor moves as a boat comes in. Statice gestures at the royals to move away as he goes to say goodbye to the group.]

Statice: [to Spike] Take care of the girls for me. You’re the stallion of the group now. Protect them with your life, little drake.

Spike: [trying to sound tough through his tears] Oh please. I was the original dude before you showed up.

Statice: [rubs Spike’s head scales] Then they’re in good claws.

[Spike hugs Statice and cries a little bit. He breaks the hug, gently sniffling.]

Statice: [to Pinkie Pie] I still remember our first meeting. Some jerks gave me a bad time and you made me forget that by giving me a party, even though I was a stranger. Despite how strange you were, I’m glad that I got to understand you.

[Pinkie Pie tears up and bawls. She gives Statice a bear hug, breaking his ribs.]

Pinkie Pie: [crying] I DON’T WANT  YOU TO LEAVE! YOU’RE ONE OF MY BESTEST FRIENDS FOREVER! WHO’S GOING TO MAKE ME MY LIGHTNING WORKS? WHO IS GOING TO TAKE ME TO NEW PLACES OUTSIDE OF EQUESTRIA? WHO WILL LET ME DRESS IN ANY OUTFIT I WANT?

Statice: [places a hoof on her lips] I promise to play with you when I come back. I’ll play every single game you make for me during my return party.

[Pinkie Pie nods her head. Statice walks to Rainbow Dash and gives her back the Wonderbolts tickets she gave him in the previous episode.]

Statice: [mildly regretful] I’m sorry that I can’t go to your first ever Wonderbolts show, Rainbow Dash. But I’m really happy that you finally got to fulfill your lifelong dream of becoming a Wonderbolt.

Rainbow Dash: [punches Statice’s arm with tears in her eyes] Don’t get mushy with me! I’ll be fine! Just you wait, Statice. When you come back I’m going to give you a show that you will never forget. I’ll be 20% cooler than I am now.

Statice: [playfully punches Rainbow Dash back] You’re 20 times cooler than you were when I first met you and you thought that I was challenging you to a martial arts fight.

[Applejack walks in and gives Statice a firm hoof shake.]

Applejack: [sternly] Don’t get yourself in trouble, mister. I don’t want to go to my mailbox and read that you got yourself hurt!

Statice: [nods his head] I’ll keep that in mind. I’ll miss your apples. I don’t think that I can eat a better fruit than those apples from Sweet Apple Acres.

[Applejack tears up and gives Statice a bear hug. The green stallion gasps at the pressure that she is putting at his ribs.]

Applejack: [sniffling] I’ll miss all of those moments in which you stop acting tough and say the sweetest things to everypony!

[Applejack stops the hug and lets Statice breath again. Rarity approaches Statice, she has some tears in her eyes and has her makeup running.]

Statice: [awkwardly] A lady shouldn’t cry. It takes away the beauty from you.

Rarity: [bawling] JUST HUG ME, YOU RUFFIAN!

[Rarity breaks down and hugs Statice. The green stallion awkwardly pats Rarity’s back. The white unicorn calms down and sniffles.]

Rarity: [trying to act calm] Don’t forget your manners, Statice. Remember that you are a knight and you should behave as such.

Statice: [playfully] I’ll remember that when I reach Hobuck, Lady of Generosity.

[Rarity smiles and pecks Statice on the cheek. She leaves and places Fluttershy close to Statice. Fluttershy makes the whimpering noise, unable to say something.]

Statice: [guiltily] Hi.

Fluttershy: [nervously] Hi.

Statice: [reluctantly] I’m leaving for some time.

Fluttershy: [trying not to cry] Yes. You are.

Statice: [rubs Fluttershy’s mane] Hey, now. You’re the big girl of the group, Fluttershy. Don’t bawl your eyes in front of the baby.

Spike: [in the background awkwardly] It’s true, Fluttershy. Watching you cry makes me feel bad.

Statice: [deadpan] I was talking about me, Spike. I’m the youngest of the Elements of Harmony even if I’m no longer holding the Element of Magic.

Spike: [chuckles awkwardly] Sorry.

Statice: [gently] Show me your big girl face, Fluttershy.

[Fluttershy stand up looking firm. She wipes her tears and gives Statice a smile.]

Fluttershy: [confidently] I wish you the best in Hobuck, Statice. Give Meadow Tails a big hug from my part.

Statice: [nods his head] Noted.

[Fluttershy leaves  and Statice is left with Twilight. Both of them are feeling nervous and awkwardly turn their faces away.]

Statice: [nervously] I guess this is it for the time being.

Twilight Sparkle: [rubs the back of her hoof] I think that’s true.

Statice: [awkwardly] Sorry if I didn’t make it to alicorn level, teacher.

Twilight Sparkle: [giggling] It’s okay. I don’t think that you could have handled being a prince.

[Statice and Twilight laugh together.]

Statice: [gratefully] I’m glad that I got to be your student, Princess Twilight Sparkle. I never got to be any happier than being your friend.

[Statice bows to Twilight. The purple alicorn smiles before she bends down and places a kiss on Statice’s forehead.]

Twilight Sparkle: [gently] Go. Your family is waiting.

[Statice nods his head and gets into the boat. He waves at his friends as the boat sails in the horizon. The Mane Six and Spike smile through their tears. In the boat, Statice starts crying but keeps smiling at the group as they disappear. The show’s theme song is heard as Twilight and Spike are back in the library and Twilight is writing her thoughts in her Archive.]

Twilight Sparkle: [narrating] Dear Statice, how are you doing? It’s been a day since your departure and so far nothing has changed. Ponyville is still the beautiful peaceful setting on which you moved in, at least until the usual misadventure happens. Anyway, Discord and Spike have been hanging around lately at your castle. Rainbow Dash gave her Wonderbolts tickets to Scootaloo and some of her friends. Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, and Rarity are still working on their jobs. As for me, I learned that helping you come out of your shell is the best thing I’ve ever done since I became a princess. Teaching you about friendship was perhaps the my greatest accomplishment as a princess so far. I am looking forward to learn about your new friendship lesson in Hobuck and to teach you about my friendship lessons in Ponyville. Your most faithful mentor waits for you, Twilight Sparkle.

[Twilight smiles as she sends her message through her Archive. In Hobuck, Statice is eating with his family and receives Twilight’s message. He smiles as he reads it.]

Meadow Tails: [curiously] What did you get, Statice?

Statice: [smiles sweetly] I just got a letter from my friend. I’ll go outside.

[Statice gets outside of his house and reads the letter fully. He reaches the end and gasps. He smiles fondly at the letter. The camera goes to Statice’s Archive, showing the photo that Pinkie Pie took during Statice’s goodbye party. The photo shows the Mane Six, Statice, and Spike sharing one last group hug together. The screen fades to black as the camera focuses on the photo. Closing credits roll.]
