Have an Ice Day

[The episode begins with everypony in Ponyville being in a large room to have a meeting. Several random ponies are chatting and are dressed with winter clothes, similar to  the ones that they wore at the beginning of “Winter Wrap Up” with Pinkie Pie happily humming the song. Mayor Mare walks in front of a microphone and bops it with her hoof to test the audio. She cleans up her throat and begins speaking.]

Mayor Mare: [professionally] Greetings, Ponyville! We have started this meeting to celebrate the last day of winter fun before we begin Winter Wrap Up.

Pinkie Pie: [singing] Winter Wrap Up! Winter Wrap Up!

Mayor Mare: [mildly exasperated] Not the right time, Pinkie! Now, since tomorrow will be the last day of winter on which we can all have fun, Princess Twilight Sparkle has decided to start a holiday so that we can spend a day relaxing ourselves in the snow before we have to wrap up the winter in Ponyville.

[All of the ponies stomp their hooves as Mayor Mare lets Twilight into the stand. Twilight Sparkle sheepishly waves at them. She composes herself to speak her part.]

Twilight Sparkle: [levitates some writing cards] This brings me back to my first Winter Wrap Up in Ponyville back when I was just a unicorn. Back then, I wanted to belong but I didn’t know the proper way to help you all without magic.

Applejack: [whispers at Rarity] I remember when she tried to use magic on my farm and she got us all covered in snow.

Rarity: [whispers at Fluttershy] Don’t remind me of when she tried to make a bird’s nest and I spend all the Winter Wrap Up trying to correct it.

Fluttershy: [giggles] I remember when she attempted to help the animals wake up from hibernation.

[The girls all laugh wistfully and nostalgically.]

Twilight Sparkle: [continues her speech] As a princess, I wanted to make Winter Wrap Up more special and memorable. But how can you make such an important tradition more special?

Pinkie Pie: [bounces excitedly] HOW? How did you make it special?

Twilight Sparkle: [grins happily] I’ve decided to honor the last day of winter before the wrap up. That way, everypony can have fun before we prepare ourselves for the arrival of the spring!

[All of the ponies start cheering for Twilight. Mayor Mare walks to Twilight and gives her a hoof shake. She then goes back to the microphone.]

Mayor Mare: [smiling at the ponies] Does anypony have a question?

[A green hoof clothed in a red sock is raised. Mayor Mare notices who the owner is and grimaces.]

Mayor Mare: [reluctantly] What’s your question, Statice?

[The camera focuses on Statice, who is dressed normally and has four red socks on his hooves. He is glaring at the audience in annoyance.]

Statice: [crosses his forelegs] Yes. I have a question. Ponyville is no longer in quarantine and you guys are back to your own houses. Now, back to the question, why on Equestria are you having this meeting at my castle?

[The camera reveals that the meeting is literally taking place at Statice’s castle. It then packs back to Mayor Mare,  who is blushing in embarrassment.]

Mayor Mare: [sheepishly] I’m sorry about that. It’s just that the Town Hall is getting cleaned and this place is more suitable for a meeting. And I kind of felt a little homesick ever since we left your castle.

Statice: [stops her with a raised hoof] It’s okay. Forget about my question.

Twilight Sparkle: [flies to Statice with a grin on her face] Aren’t you going to ask a question regarding our new winter festivity on Ponyville?

[She makes the squeaky noise as she gives Statice her grin. Statice does not seem fazed by her enthusiasm.]

Statice: [deadpan] No questions. Good night, Twilight.

[Twilight looks depressed at her student’s disinterest in her new holiday. Rainbow Dash raises her hoof, which excites her again.]

Twilight Sparkle: [overjoyed] Do you have a question, Rainbow Dash?

Rainbow Dash: [with an evil grin] Actually, Twilight, this question is more for Statice.
[Twilight gets disappointed while Statice turns around to meet Rainbow Dash’s eyes.]

Statice: [bored] Shoot your question.

Rainbow Dash: [trying not to laugh] What’s with the socks! I didn’t think you were the type of stallion to wear red socks when you go to  sleep.

[Rainbow Dash bursts into laughter, some of the ponies also burst into laughter as well. Curiously enough, some mares such as Fluttershy, Rarity, and Mayor Mare blush. Twilight and Applejack are disturbed. Pinkie Pie and Spike stare at each other in confusion. Statice just stands there looking annoyed.]

Statice: [exasperated] I got bad circulation in my hooves during winter! They get cold these days! Excuse me if I don’t want to wake up with a sore throat because my hooves got cold. You know what, if you have a problem then I’m going to take them off.

[Statice sits on his haunches and stretches a hind leg. He bites on the sock and is about to remove it in a somewhat suggestive way. This causes everypony to stop laughing while they look heavily disturbed. Fluttershy even goes as far as to faint when she watches Statice trying to take off his socks]

Rainbow Dash: [panicking] Cut that out, Statice! That looks gross!

[Several ponies start to protest about Statice’s behavior.]

Statice: [groans in defeat] I hate town meetings!

[The opening credits roll. All of the ponies are having a fun day in Ponyville. The Cutie
Mark Crusaders are making snow pony replicas of themselves. Above them, Rainbow Dash is making cloud pony replicas of the crusaders that look almost like snow. Fluttershy is happily making snow angels by lying on her back and then extending her wings. Twilight is making the preparation plans for Winter Wrap Up as Rarity is using her magic to make an ice sculpture of the Mane Six. Spike is looking at Rarity with admiration as she works on her ice sculpture. Applejack is having a snowball fight with Big Macintosh with her throwing a barrage of snowballs by kicking them with her hind legs. Big Mac retaliates by jumping on top of a shovel as an improvised catapult, burying Applejack in snow. Finally, Pinkie Pie is happily doing ice skating while Statice is watching her.]

Pinkie Pie: [does a fancy spin] Wee! Come on, Statice! Go ice skating with me.

Statice: [shakes his head] I prefer not to, Pinkie. Ice is too slippery and I don’t want to imagine how cold it would be if it breaks and I fall on the water below.

Pinkie Pie: [in a whinny voice] But Statice! I want to do more coltfriend and marefriend stuff!

Statice: [confused] We do that. We bake at Sugarcube Corner.

Pinkie Pie: [impatiently] That’s work activity. It’s not something fun that couples do.

Statice: [deadpan] Pinkie, anything that includes candy is fun to you. That’s why you like  your job so much.

Pinkie Pie: [giggles] It’s true. But I want more personal fun, Statice.

Statice: [blushes] Can you elaborate on that one…?

Pinkie Pie: [thoughtfully] Well, how about you go ICE SKATING WITH ME?

Statice: [sighs] Fine. But I haven’t dealt with ice skating my entire life.

[Statice sets his hooves on the ice. The slippery surface makes Statice extends his hooves on all four direction so he ends up sliding on his belly and spinning. He slides forward and spinning until he collides with a snow mountain. Pinkie Pie giggles at the scene before breaking into laughter.]

Pinkie Pie: [hysterically] You’re supposed to put your ice skates first silly. You can’t skate without them.

Statice: [coming out of the snow] Sure you can. The only reason skates are made is because the ice is too cold for your hooves.

Pinkie Pie: [concerned] Is the ice too cold for your hooves? You should have brought your red socks then!

[Some ponies that were passing by burst into laughter at the comment. Statice gets annoyed while Pinkie laughs with them.]

Statice: [grumbles to himself] I hate this holiday.

Pinkie Pie: [picks Statice’s hoof] You’re just saying that because you’re not giving it a chance. Try to do it with the skates. I’ll help you this time.

[Statice groans in annoyance as he uses his magic to put on the ice skates. Pinkie Pie takes his hooves with hers and they both go skating bipedal style. Under Pinkie’s guidance, Statice manages to maintain his equilibrium.]

Pinkie Pie: [smiling supportively] You’re doing it, Statice! You’re doing it!

Statice: [clearly excited] I’m doing it!

Pinkie Pie: [nods her head] Okay. Now we’re going to try to do some spinning. Keep your hooves on mine and we’ll start to spin on the same place a couple of times. We’ll stop once we get it.

[Statice nods his head in understanding. Both of them start to spin in the same place repeatedly, tracing a circle underneath their skates. After some time, they both stop and Pinkie Pie smiles at Statice.]

Pinkie Pie: [nuzzles Statice] I knew you could do it. Let’s give this lesson a pause. I say we go get ourselves some hot cocoa.

Statice: [shakes his head confidently] I think I’ll stay here, Pinkie. That way we’ll continue our lesson once we finish our cocoa.

Pinkie Pie: [thoughtfully] Good enough for me!

[Pinkie Pie skates away from Statice. The green unicorn smiles at Pinkie in appreciation, not noticing that the circle on which he is standing is cracking. As the pink mare is ordering their hot cocoa, the ice breaks. Statice falls on the cold water  as Pinkie Pie turns around.]

Pinkie Pie: [horrified] Statice!

[Pinkie Pie puts both cocoa glasses inside her mane before skating at breakneck speed at Statice’s location. The hole on which he fell is once again covered in ice but it is visible enough to see Statice struggling.]

Pinkie Pie: [desperately] I’ll save you, Statice!

[Pinkie Pie once again skates away but this time bringing a barrel of hot cocoa. She lets it on the ice to melt it. Once a hole is made, Statice comes out…completely covered in snow. The next scene shows Statice with Spike, who is melting him with his dragon fire.]

Spike: [sympathetically] If it makes you feel any better the same thing happened to me during my first Winter Wrap Up. I fell asleep on a chunk of ice that melted.

Statice: [annoyed] I got under cold water while it was still in winter, Spike! How is winter water comparable to this?

Spike: [gives Statice hot cocoa] You have fur to keep you warm. My scales don’t keep me warm under cold climates. Believe me, spring still has some winter cold when it’s just beginning.

Statice: [sighs] Thanks Spike. And I want to apologize for my outburst.

Spike: [drinks some cocoa] It’s okay, Statice. I don’t mind.

[Both friends begin drinking their cocoa once Spike completely finishes to melt Statice. Meanwhile, Pinkie Pie is talking with Twilight.]

Pinkie Pie: [angry with herself] I’m such a klutz, Twilight! It’s the first time we
celebrate this day and I get my coltfriend nearly frozen!

Twilight Sparkle: [in a calming tone] It was an accident, Pinkie Pie. I don’t think that Statice will hold it against you.

Pinkie Pie: [unsurely] I just want a special memory with my coltfriend. I want something that doesn’t have to do with work. I want something that doesn’t have to do with baking or fighting to save Equestria. It sounds weird from me but I just want a normal coltfriend marefriend thing.

Twilight Sparkle: [places a supportive hoof on Pinkie Pie] It’s not weird. Besides, the day is still long. You guys can come out with something to do on the meantime.

Pinkie Pie: [smiles thoughtfully] I’m thinking of some super-duper ideas for winter fun!

[The next scene shows Twilight and Pinkie Pie next to Statice.]

Statice: [surprised] You want us to do a winter race?

Pinkie Pie: [grins] Like in the Equestria Games!

Twilight Sparkle: [proudly] I made an obstacle course. The objective is to follow the path using any of the approved vehicles. You can use a snowboard, skis, and sleds.

Rainbow Dash: [flies dressed as a referee] I’ll be the referee!

Twilight Sparkle: [smiles at Statice and Pinkie] Choose your transport methods, you two.

[Pinkie Pie grabs Statice and drags him away. The Cutie Mark Crusaders have vehicle that works as a sled but with Scootaloo using a modified scooter that resembles a snowboard. Other ponies are wearing sleds, skis, and snowboards. Pinkie Pie and Statice are standing on two fused skis and snowboard hybrid board. Both of them are holding hooves while using steering sticks for their sides.]

Statice: [looks at Pinkie Pie unsurely] Are you sure that it was a good idea to customize our vehicles instead of using ones that are already made.

Pinkie Pie: [clicks her tongue] Where will the romance be in those vehicles if they are not made with our own hooves, Statice? We need to take this race with something that both of us made.

Statice: [nervously] Pinkie…I don’t think that!

Rainbow Dash: [kicks a bell] And go!

[Pinkie Pie automatically pushes her stick forward, moving their board forward. Scootaloo buzzes her wings, moving her sled. The other ponies start to move with their own transportation. Pinkie Pie and Statice are sliding across the snow with Statice maneuvering movements from the right side and Pinkie from the left.]

Pinkie Pie: [whooping delight] Wee! Didn’t I tell you that this was going to be fun!

Statice: [alarmed] Rock!

[Statice moves the board to the left, accidentally bumping some ponies off the road. Pinkie Pie giggles as she moves the board to the right, also knocking some ponies of the track. The couple starts to move erratically as they are trying to maneuver around the obstacles, accidentally knocking the other competitors of the course. The only ones that remain are the Cutie Mark Crusaders.]

Apple Bloom: [cheerfully] We’re going to win! We’re going to win!

Sweetie Belle: [worried] That is if they don’t catch up with us!

Scootaloo: [confidently] We’re going to win! I promise you that!

[Statice struggles to keep balance  as they are now behind the crusaders. He notices a slanted rock that works as a ramp. He grins at Pinkie and moves the board into the rock ramp. Slow motion takes place as they jump above the Crusaders.]

Statice: [in slow motion] Take that!

Pinkie Pie: [also in slow motion] Wee!

Scootaloo: [in awe while also in slow motion] Awesome!

[The moment is ruined when Statice and Pinkie Pie collide with a tree and get covered in snow. The Crusaders cross the finish line and get the race. All of the audience goes crazy as Rainbow Dash gives Scootaloo and the Crusaders their treasure. Pinkie Pie bursts out of the snow, laughing.]

Pinkie Pie: [happily] That was fun, Statice!

[The pink mare turns around to see her coltfriend groaning in pain. Her smile disappears as she realizes that he didn’t have fun with her. Her mane deflates as the scene changes. Statice is once again with Spike being warmed by the baby dragon’s fire.]

Spike: [apologetically] I’m sorry that you and Pinkie Pie didn’t win the race, Statice. But second place is a good position.

Statice: [cracks his neck as he groans in pain] To be honest, Rainbow Dash and Twilight had to disqualify us because we eliminated most of the competition by accident. They are now making another place to decide who gets second place and so on.

Spike: [wincing] Ouch!

[The scene changes to Pinkie Pie talking with Twilight and Rainbow.]

Rainbow Dash: [rubs the back of her head in guilt] I’m sorry for defaulting you, Pinkie. I had to do my duty as a referee. You understand?

Pinkie Pie: [nods her head] I understand. I was having fun but Statice didn’t have fun. And he got hurt because of it!

Twilight Sparkle: [draws a sketch] Skating did not work. Racing with Rainbow Dash did not work. Maybe some ice sculpture with Rarity will work. Statice is good with art.
[Statice and Pinkie Pie are now standing in front of Rarity.]

Rarity: [levitates big chunks of ice to Pinkie and Statice] Ice sculpting is a delicate art. Ice is a more complicated substance than stone. You have to be very careful with how you sculpt it. Here you have your chisels and your hammers.

Pinkie Pie: [happily] Let’s do this, Statice!

[Pinkie Pie takes her chisel and her hammer and surrounds her block of ice. She starts drilling at insane speed. Once she is finished, she ends up making a lousy of sculpture of herself and Statice nuzzling. The sculpture is so badly sculpted that it ends up breaking under its weight. Pinkie Pie’s mane deflates in disappointment while Rarity struggles not to say anything wrong.]

Rarity: [in consoling tone] It’s okay, darling. Not everypony gets it the first time. How are you doing, Statice?

Statice: [using his magic to work his sculpture] Not yet finished. I just started.

Rarity: [surprised] Oh! In that case, take your time.

Statice: [shakes his head] No. I don’t have all day and I want to spend it with Pinkie. I don’t think that she wants to stay here and watch me make a sculpture.

[Statice leads Pinkie Pie away, making her smile a little. The next scene shows Statice once again talking with Spike.]

Spike: [deadpan] You do realize that complex art requires time and patience? I don’t think Pinkie Pie could have done something that complicated.

Statice: [annoyed] Why did you think that I quit? I want something that we can both enjoy.

[The girls are now talking with Pinkie Pie.]

Rarity: [disappointed] It’s a shame that Statice didn’t get to finish his sculpture. I bet it would have been a masterpiece.

Rainbow Dash: [crosses her forelegs] Skating, racing, and ice sculpting didn’t work. What’s the plan now, Twilight?

Twilight Sparkle: [thoughtfully] It has to have something that they both have  in common. Statice is serious and Pinkie Pie is fun loving. We need to think of an activity that…

Rainbow Dash: [excitedly] Snowball war! It’s the perfect way to mix fun and serious business into something.

Rarity: [supportively] I second that! Statice has been on fights all his life. I’m sure that getting into a playful snowball fight will put him on the right mood.

Pinkie Pie: [with her original mane] Then what are we waiting for? Let’s make a snowball fight.

[Statice and Pinkie Pie are standing on Ponyville. Both of them are staring at each other’s eyes while cowboy music is being played. Pinkie Pie is on the Apple family side while Statice is with Rainbow Dash and Twilight. Several ponies are getting nervous as they see the couple angrily staring at each other’s eyes. Suddenly, they both move.]

Pinkie Pie: [yelling] ATTACK!

Statice: [commanding Twilight] DEFEND THE STRUCTURE!

[Pinkie Pie begins the assault by using her party cannon to throw large snow projectiles at her enemies. Applejack uses her hind legs to kick snowballs at a speed rivaling a machine gun. Big Macintosh uses the catapult that he used on Applejack to throw snow at his rivals. The first two attacks are neutralized as Statice and Twilight use their magic to build a replica of Statice’s castle. Big Mac’s attack is neutralized when Rainbow Dash flies through the snow scattering it. The assault now turns on Statice’s favor while he, Twilight, and Rainbow Dash throw snowballs at Pinkie Pie. The pink mare gestures at the farm ponies to bring logs of wood and use it to form a tower the size of Statice’s castle. Pinkie Pie comes out dressed as a general.]

Pinkie Pie: [points her cannon at the snow castle] Surrender yourselves and you won’t be destroyed!

Statice: [smirks arrogantly] How about you submit and spare yourselves the humiliation?

Pinkie Pie: [undeterred by the challenge] I can spare my own humiliation after we win!

[Pinkie Pie comes out of her tower armed with her party cannon. Twilight levitates a huge snowball in response. Pinkie Pie fires her party cannon to throw a boulder size snowball while Statice infuses Twilight’s magic with a Propulsion Spell. Both snowballs collide with each other but the Propulsion Spell causes them to blow up and bury both teams in a raining avalanche. Both teams are quickly intimidated upon seeing the large volumes of snow about to fall on top of them.]

Statice: [gulps] I overdid it!

Rainbow Dash: [glares at Statice] You think?

[All of the players are crushed under the snow. Statice is once again with Spike, this  time covered in a blanket. Spike is shown to be visually annoyed as he serves him hot cocoa.]

Spike: [irritated] How did you create an avalanche from a snow fight?

Statice: [feeling guilty] I can’t help it. I’ve been a bounty hunter for most of my life so I take combat very seriously. I didn’t mean to blow it out of proportion.

Spike: [pats Statice’s shoulder] I’m sure that you meant no harm. Besides, when you face Pinkie Pie in a snow fight I’m sure that she would have reacted the same.

Pinkie Pie: [angry and with a frazzled mane] What is WRONG with me?’

Rarity: [trying to calm Pinkie down] Calm down, dear. It’s going to be okay!

Pinkie Pie: [shakes Rarity in agitation] It is NOT okay!

Rainbow Dash: [slaps her head to get snow out of her ears] What  are you talking about? You guys went all out in that snowball fight!

Pinkie Pie: [disgruntled] But we didn’t have fun! It was clear that Statice saw me more as an enemy than as a marefriend back then.

Rainbow Dash: [pours some hot cocoa for Pinkie] He sure did! Using that Propulsion Spell was not cool!

Applejack: [frustrated] What are you so frustrated about? I had to recover all the wood we used on that fort, bring it back to my farm, and dry it! If that wood cannot be used
to make a fire I’m going to have to get dryer wood at night!

Twilight Sparkle: [in a calming tone] Don’t worry, Applejack. I can send Spike to use his fire if your wood is not dry enough.

Spike: [yells in the background] You can count on me, Applejack! No wood can give you the same fire a dragon can give you!

[Applejack smiles at the gesture.]

Statice: [yells offscreen] What’s the plan this time, Twilight?

Twilight Sparkle: [stares at the group] Fluttershy?

The Girls: [nod their heads] Fluttershy.

[The camera shows Statice, Pinkie Pie, and Fluttershy alone.]

Fluttershy: [happy] Oh my, you guys want me to teach you how to make snow angels?

Statice: [unconvinced] As a matter of fact…

Pinkie Pie: [kicks Statice on the side with a hind leg, knocking the wind out of him] Yes. I and Statice over here will love to make snow angels.

Statice: [growls at Pinkie] What are you doing, Pinkie? We are going to make snow angels! How hard can that be?

Pinkie Pie: [growls back] I want to do something that we can both enjoy. Besides, making snow angels is fun.

Fluttershy: [stands on her hind legs] We’ll begin the lesson right now!

[Fluttershy lets herself fall onto back. She gently waves her front legs up and down and her hind legs back and forth.]

Fluttershy: [instructively] Normally, I use my wings for my angel but you will have to use your forelegs on the technique. Spread them on the side and wave them up and down
like I’m doing here.

[Pinkie Pie grins as she pushes Statice onto his back. She then throws herself next to him and starts doing the same. Pinkie Pie is happily following Fluttershy’s motion while Statice does them lazily. Once Fluttershy is done with her demonstration, she flies away from her figure and admires it.]

Fluttershy: [smiles at her snow angel] Perfect!

Pinkie Pie: [gets out of her snow angel] Let me see how my snow angel looks like!

[Pinkie Pie’s excitement dies down when she sees that she only made a circle with her motions.]

Fluttershy: [trying to be supportive] That is a beautiful snow circle, Pinkie. How did you do with yours Statice?

[Statice levitates himself from the snow and checks on his snow angel. He frowns when he sees that his lower legs didn’t make the snow angel as they should have.]

Fluttershy: [unsurely] Uh…your hind legs need to be positioned vertically instead of horizontally…otherwise their structure.

Statice: [deadpan] I’m sure that I understand how I messed it up, Fluttershy. We can try again, Pinkie…

[Statice and Fluttershy turn around and see that Pinkie Pie is absent.]

Statice and Fluttershy: [worried] Pinkie Pie?

[The screen fades to black. The rest of the Mane Six are now back in Golden Oaks Library.]

Rainbow Dash: [enraged] How can you lose Pinkie Pie, Statice? She is your marefriend!

Statice: [defensively] You think I’m happy to have my marefriend run off like that. I’m not even sure where she is. She just disappeared without a word.

Rarity: [knitting a red sweater] Oh my, it’s going to be dark soon. I can’t fathom Pinkie
Pie being outside in the cold without a nice warm sweater keeping her cozy.

Statice: [growls at himself] This is all my fault! If I had been better at ice skating Pinkie Pie would have never tried to make this day more fun. She wouldn’t have gotten so…disappointed.

Applejack: [gives Statice cocoa] Easy there, partner! That’s just the guilt speaking through your lips! We all know you care about Pinkie Pie. You were trying to give her as much of a good day as she tried to give you.

Statice: [smiles in nostalgia] To be honest, despite all of the shortcomings, I did enjoy my day with Pinkie Pie.

Twilight Sparkle: [surprised] You did?

Statice: [nods his head] She taught me basic ice skating and I learned it fast. I probably would have been a decent one if I had continued my lessons.

Rainbow Dash: [flies to Statice] What about the race?

Statice: [chuckles] I did enjoy soaring through the airs before we crashed.

Rarity: [confused] What about the ice sculpting? Pinkie Pie’s sculpture broke apart and you didn’t got to finish yours.

Statice: [smiles] The sculpture was about me and her. My sculpture was going to be about the same. But who needs a sculpture when you have the real deal?

Applejack: [raises an eyebrow] What about the out of control snow fight?

Statice: [blushes in embarrassment] I did got carried away! But I’ll give her credit. She is a worthy adversary.

Fluttershy: [hopefully] What did you think of the snow angels?

Statice: [shrugs his shoulders] Not so much fun as I expected.

Fluttershy: [gets sad] Oh.

Statice: [smiles at Fluttershy] But I was willing to try as much as I could to make Pinkie smile.

Spike: [trying to be helpful] Does anypony have an idea on where can we find Pinkie? It’s
not a big town.

Statice: [pounds his hooves] I think I got it!

[Statice gallops out of the library and goes to the lake. The other ponies start
following him. He stops when he sees Pinkie Pie sadly practicing figure skating. As she finishes with a pirouette, Statice claps at her. Pinkie Pie turns around and gasps.]

Statice: [praising] Beautiful technique.

Pinkie Pie: [stunned] Statice! What are you doing here?

Statice: [levitates the sweater Rarity made to Pinkie] I came to spend the day with my marefriend and I will do that. Put on the sweater. It’s going to be colder later on.

Pinkie Pie: [reluctantly] But things have been no fun for us today. Every time that we tried something always happens.

Statice: [puts on his ice skates] Lots of bad things happened…but they were worth the good things that happened first. Look! I can skate a little!

[Statice skates to Pinkie Pie as she puts on her sweater.]

Statice: [extends his hoof to Pinkie Pie] I still want to learn some ice skating from you, Pinkie Pie.

Pinkie Pie: [with teary eyes] Really?

Statice: [nods his head] Really.

[Pinkie Pie hugs Statice. Twilight flies close to them and clears her throat to get their attention.]

Twilight Sparkle: [cheerfully] There is an ice skating dance for couples at the other side of the lake. Do you two want to give it a try?

Pinkie Pie and Statice: [confidently] Yes!

[The next scene shows Statice and Pinkie Pie back on the lake. Several couples from “Hearts and Hooves Day” are happily skating with each other. Statice looks mildly intimidated.]

Pinkie Pie: [nudges Statice with her hoof] Are you okay?

Statice: [sighs] I don’t want to make a fool of myself in front of all of these couples. It’s already bad enough to look like a punk in front of my marefriend.

[Pinkie Pie grins at Statice before she pulls him into the skating ring. She grabs his hooves and they both spin as they hold each other.]

Pinkie Pie: [confidently] We’ll just do some basic things and leave. Pull me to you and hug me right now.

[Statice complies and pulls Pinkie into a hug as he continues to spin.]

Pinkie Pie: [happily] Now raise me into the air with your fore hooves.

[Statice gently grabs her by the waist and hoists her into the sky. He stops spinning and just stands there in the ice holding Pinkie Pie. He is suddenly met by applause from all of the couples.]

Pinkie Pie: [giggles reassuringly] I told you that there was nothing to worry about.

[Statice smiles and hugs her. The next scene shows him bringing her back to the ice sculpture. Pinkie Pie smiles sadly at the fragments of her own sculpture.]

Pinkie Pie: [sadly] It’s a shame I’m not that good with art.

Statice: [uses his magic to lift his hammer and chisel] Close your eyes and tell me anything. Open them when I tell you.

[Pinkie Pie is confused but closes her eyes.]

Pinkie Pie: [sighs] I was born on a Tuesday and with three sisters. My favorite sister is Maud Pie…I hope you meet her someday.

[Pinkie Pie continues talking.]

Pinkie Pie: [undeterred] And then I found the book under E. You’d expect Twilight to find it first since she was a librarian but you know how she is. She cannot work that well under stress.

Statice: [offscreen] Open your eyes, Pinkie!

[Pinkie Pie opens her eyes and sees that Statice has made a replica of them nuzzling, just like in her original sculpture. She gets tears in her eyes as she watches the sculpture.]

Pinkie Pie: [touched] It’s so beautiful!

Statice: [lights his horn with magic]  You haven’t seen the last of it!

[Statice levitates the broken remains of Pinkie Pie’s sculpture and infuses them with magic. The remains turn into magic glitter, which he scatters across his own sculpture. Pinkie Pie is awed at what he did.]

Pinkie Pie: [curious] What did you do to my sculpture, Statice? Tell me now!

Statice: [proudly] I used the remains to scatter my Preservation Spell to make sure nothing will break this ice sculpture. It would be useless to make a sculpture if it breaks eventually.

Pinkie Pie: [sniffles] You would do that just for me?

Statice: [nods his head] Yes. In fact…

[Statice uses his magic to open a portal. The ice sculpture is put inside the portal. Statice offers his hoof to Pinkie Pie, who takes it and enters into the portal with him. They are now inside a white space with nothing but the ice sculpture with them.]

Pinkie Pie: [awed] What is this place? Is there an echo in here? There is no echo to be heard, Statice! It’s not like what you see in cartoons!

Statice: [smiles proudly] This is Hammerspace! This is the place on which I store everything I own.

Pinkie Pie: [confused] It’s empty.

[Statice grins and concentrates, causing a wave of objects to fly in front of them. Pinkie Pie is awed to see so many things inside of Hammerspace.]

Pinkie Pie: [grins happily] That’s the ice cream stand that you showed us when we first met. I still remember those frozen delicacies!

Statice: [pats the ice sculpture] Hammerspace is the ultimate storage facility. It’s not only infinitely wide enough to store anything. The laws of the universe don’t affect anything here.

Pinkie Pie: [stunned] The laws of the universe don’t work here! How does it work? I mean what works here?

Statice: [extends his forelegs to the sides] Everything can happen here. Time does not work so you don’t have to worry about your food getting rotten. There is no temperature so you don’t have to worry about your ice cream melting. No gravity that will make your objects tall into a void.

Pinkie Pie: [flies in the middle of the explanation] Wee! This place is fun!

Statice: [stops explaining and just watches Pinkie] I’m glad that you’re enjoying your time here, Pinkie.

Pinkie Pie: [happily] This place is fun! Is this where you always go every time that I wanted to play tag with you?

Statice: [chuckles playfully] It’s kind of hard to find me when I’m not even in the same universe as you, Pinkie.

Pinkie Pie: [curiously] You said that this place was not affected by time, right, Statice?

Statice: [nods his head] Yes, Pinkie. We can stay all the time in the world here and we wouldn’t grow old. In fact, we could stay here for hours and not even a simple second would have taken place in our world.

Pinkie Pie: [floats to Statice] Do you want to go out on a date with me?

Statice: [smiles as he gets a camera from Hammerspace] I would love to go out on a date with you, Miss Pie.

Pinkie Pie: [giggles and blushes] Pinkie Pie is alright, silly!

Statice: [offers his hoof to Pinkie] I’ll stop being silly as long as you start being Pinkie.

Pinkie Pie: [takes his hoof on her own] Can you give me one of your ice creams. It’s been a while since I’ve tasted them.

[The next scene shows the rest of the Mane Six waiting for Statice and Pinkie.]

Rarity: [impatiently] Now where would these two be?

Twilight Sparkle: [shakes her head] I’m not sure. Statice sent me a signal that told me to come here with the rest of you guys.

Applejack: [sighs] I bet that he plans on having a big entrance with Pinkie Pie by his side.

[A portal is opened and from there comes Statice and Pinkie Pie]

Applejack: [unimpressed] Told you!

Pinkie Pie: [bounces happily] We’re back!

Rainbow Dash: [confused] From where?

Pinkie Pie: [excitedly] Hammerspace!

Twilight Sparkle: [stunned] You mean that intradimensional spell that Statice uses to store his things.

Pinkie Pie: [trying to be scientific] As a matter of fact you’re referring to the spell
and not the dimension from which it was named.

Twilight Sparkle: [offended] You took Pinkie Pie to Hammerspace and you didn’t invite me?

Statice: [annoyed] Hey, I had to do a lot for my marefriend! Besides, there is nothing interesting to see in Hammerspace!

Pinkie Pie: [gives Statice and Twilight a hug] Except for all the cool stuff that Statice keeps there. Other than that, it’s just a boring white space.

Twilight Sparkle: [levitates a quill and a notebook] Can you tell me anything to know about Hammerspace?

Statice: [impatiently] No! I’m not giving you a Physics class on Hammerspace!

Twilight Sparkle: [demandingly] Come on! Where is your academic generosity?

[Statice and Twilight leave the place while the rest of the Mane Six follow them. Pinkie Pie stands behind and watches the stars.]

Pinkie Pie: [satisfied] It was a nice holiday.

[The next day shows the ponies engaging in Winter Wrap Up. Rainbow Dash is leading the Pegasus in clearing the sky and guiding the birds in the right direction…by giving Derpy somepony to help her guide the birds in the first place. Rarity and Spike are in charge of making the nests. Fluttershy is happily waking up the animals from hibernation. Twilight is talking with Mayor Mare. They come to a pause as they address the ponies.]

Mayor Mare: [triumphantly] My little ponies, it is with great pride that I say that winter has been officially wrapped up!

[The ponies begin to cheer at the news. Rainbow Dash flies to Twilight and gives her a bear hug.]

Rainbow Dash: [overjoyed] We broke our record, Twilight! We finished with more than an hour to spare!

Twilight Sparkle: [pleasantly surprised] We did! Wow!

Applejack: [proudly] And we actually did all of that without Pinkie Pie or Statice.

Spike: [concerned] Speaking of Pinkie and Statice, can somepony tell me where are they? I thought that things ended nicely between them yesterday.

Rarity: [smiles sadly] They did but the next morning didn’t start well for them.

Spike: [raises an eyebrow] How so?

Fluttershy: [rubs her forelegs in awkwardness] Let’s just say that being exposed too many times to the cold is the perfect way to get a cold.

Spike: [sympathetically] Statice and Pinkie have a cold.

Twilight Sparkle: [shakes her head] Just Statice. Pinkie Pie is fine but decided to stay at Statice’s castle to take care of him.

Spike: [happy for Statice] That’s very nice of Pinkie Pie.

Rarity: [raises her head happily] That is the duty of a marefriend.

[Back in Statice’s castle, Statice is being fed by Pinkie Pie.]

Pinkie Pie: [in singsong voice] Here comes the train!

[Statice takes the soup from Pinkie Pie immediately.]

Pinkie Pie: [pouts sadly] You didn’t let me make the train noises.

Statice: [sheepishly] Sorry. Can we try again?

[Pinkie Pie grins and gives the squeaky noise. The screen fades to black as she continues feeding him and the closing credits roll.]
