Pandamonium in the East

[The episode begins with the Mane Six, the Crusaders, Big Macintosh, Spike, and Statice returning to Ponyville. The group has a sac full of medals and Rainbow Dash is proudly carrying the trophy she won at the Equestria Games. The group is met by a round of applause by the Ponyville citizens, led by Mayor Mare.]

Mayor Mare: [excited] There they are! Our group of athletes became the winners of the Equestria Games!

[The crowd cheers again. Rainbow Dash claps her hooves together and shakes them in victory. Big Macintosh and Applejack humbly salute the group. Statice looks annoyed at the attention.]

Rainbow Dash: [raises her trophy in the air] We won first place in the Equestria Games, Ponyville!

Mayor Mare: [excitedly] Is that the trophy of the Equestria Games?

Rainbow Dash: [smugly] No. This is the trophy for the Spirit of Competition. It is only given to the athlete with the best sportsmanship at the games. Guess who won it?

Pinkie Pie: [shoots confetti from her party cannon] Rainbow Dash!

Mayor Mare: [excitedly] But what about the trophy from Team Ponyville!

Applejack: [shrugs her shoulders] It’s on the Crystal Empire. We tied with Team Crystal during the team events so we decided to let them keep the trophy. The crystal ponies have been gone for a thousand years because of a curse so they deserve the trophy more than we ever did.

[Ponyville citizens are touched by Applejack’s words. Granny Smith comes out of the group with Winona by her side.]

Granny Smith: [cheers] There they are! Come and show your Granny some love my athletes!

Big Macintosh, Applejack, and Apple Bloom: [delighted] Granny!

[The Apple siblings hug Granny Smith. Winona immediately interrupts the hug to lick Applejack in the face.]

Mayor Mare: [happily] We are glad that the Equestria Games were a success, especially with our team being the shared winners of the events. It is time to make a celebration!

Pinkie Pie: [turns into a rocket like she did in “A Friend in Deed”] Then what are we waiting for! Let’s party at Statice’s castle!

[All of Ponyville cheers at the idea, minus Statice.]

Statice: [shocked] What?

[Opening credits roll. All of Ponyville citizens are celebrating inside Statice’s castle. Discord is shown giving chocolate medals to several ponies with Fluttershy being the first in line.]

Discord: [puts the chocolate medal in Fluttershy’s neck] There you go, Fluttershy. You earned it.

Fluttershy: [nervously] Oh my. I’m not sure if I can accept this Discord. I didn’t participate at the Equestria Games and I’m not much of an athlete.

Discord: [laughs] Oh please! If Rainbow Dash got a trophy for having the best sportsmanship you can get a medal for being so sweet!

Rainbow Dash: [offended] Hey!

[Fluttershy blushes at the gesture. The camera goes to Twilight Sparkle, Rarity, and Spike. Statice is shown next to them, very dissatisfied with the party.]

Twilight Sparkle: [looks at Fluttershy and Discord] Can you believe the friendship between those two? It wasn’t that long when Discord tried to take over Equestria and brainwashed us into being our opposite selves.

Rarity: [happily] Can you believe the reception we got from Ponyville? I’ve never seen our hometown so excited to see us again!

Spike: [eating three chocolate medals] Can you believe this party? Pinkie really outdid herself with this party!

Statice: [glares at the group] I can’t believe that she decided to make the party in my castle without my permission!

Pinkie Pie: [appears from within a punch bowl, surprising the girls and Spike] Don’t be like that, Statice! This is a party! You should enjoy yourself!

Statice: [looks at the party] I can enjoy myself!  I just don’t like ponies that I barely know or interact with to be partying at my home!

Pinkie Pie: [looks pensive for a moment before brightening up] Maybe you need to get into the spirit of the party! Try out some of my punch!

[Pinkie Pie gently takes a scoop of punch on her hoof and forcefully shoves it in Statice’s mouth.  Unfortunately, she ends up accidentally punching Statice in the mouth. The green stallion falls to the ground while their friends wince. Pinkie Pie does not seem to notice the damage she did.]

Pinkie Pie: [expectantly] So how was it?

Statice: [rubs nose] Quite a nice punch you had in that punch!

Pinkie Pie: [bursts into laughter] That was a nice pun, Statice! It had a nice punch line!

[Pinkie Pie giggles hysterically while Statice keeps rubbing his jaw. Vinyl Scratch then starts playing music with her stereos. Pinkie Pie grins ecstatically, making the squeaky noise in the process.]

Pinkie Pie: [grabs Statice by the hooves] Let’s dance!

Statice: [desperately] Wait! Wow!

[Pinkie Pie pulls out Statice into the dance floor and accidentally smacks him away with her rump like she did with Twilight and Fluttershy in “Party of None” but with Statice nearly hitting a bunch of ponies when he is thrown into the wall. Pinkie then peels the green stallion off the wall and starts dancing closely with him. The staggered Statice blushes while Pinkie Pie keeps leading the dance. Discord and Fluttershy look at the scene in the background.]

Discord: [laughs hysterically at the scene] That Pinkie Pie has some sick moves!

Fluttershy: [worried] Oh my! Statice does not look very comfortable dancing with Pinkie Pie! I hope she doesn’t overdo it.

Discord: [smirks at Fluttershy] If you think that Statice needs help then how about you go after him.

Fluttershy: [squeaks] I can’t do that, Discord! I mean, I danced with my friends before but I cannot dance with Statice!

Discord: [crosses his arms but is stills smiling] And why would that be, Fluttershy? Statice is your friend, isn’t he?

Fluttershy: [blushes] Well yes he is. But he is also a…

Discord: [giggles] A stallion?

Fluttershy: [whimpers] Yes…

Discord: [sighs in guilt] Look Fluttershy. It’s okay to dance with Statice. It’s just a friendly dance! It’s not like there is going to be something meaningful between you two! I can assure you that you will both remain friends.

Fluttershy: [meekly nods] Okay.

[Fluttershy walks to Pinkie Pie, who grabs Statice by the front hooves and starts spinning him. Fluttershy cowers to avoid getting hit. The green stallion is becoming a blur with each successful spin that Pinkie accomplishes.]

Fluttershy: [weakly] Pinkie Pie

Pinkie Pie: [happily while still spinning Statice] Yes, Fluttershy!

Fluttershy: [gulps] May I have this dance with Statice?

Pinkie Pie: [stops and throws Statice into the air to hug Fluttershy] Of course you can dance with Statice, silly! This is a party! We should all be dancing with our friends so that we can all have fun.

[Statice lands on the floor besides Pinkie Pie. The pink pony bounces happily while Fluttershy helps Statice to stand up.]

Fluttershy: [brushes Statice’s fur with her hoof] Oh my!  Pinkie Pie really did a number on you! She really overdid it with her dancing this time!

Statice: [groans] Pinkie Pie is a stronger mare than I expected. I always thought that Applejack and Rainbow Dash were the muscle of the group.

Fluttershy: [giggles] We are all strong in our own right, Statice. We just don’t show it often.

Statice: [rubs his shoulder] You may be right. One of my teachers taught me to never underestimate anypony based on appearance. You should have seen how he looked like. He was kind of adorable.

Fluttershy: [blushes] Eh…will you have a dance with me?

Statice: [surprised] You want to dance with me? I thought that you didn’t like to get that close to anypony. Much less a stallion!

Fluttershy: [sadly] Well we danced at the Grand Galloping Gala when you tried to cheer me up there. Now I want to dance with you to cheer you up. I’ve noticed that you don’t feel happy about the party so I just thought…

[Statice grabs her hooves and begins to dance slowly with Fluttershy. The yellow Pegasus lets out a small squeak as they dance. She then relaxes and dances. The rest of the Mane Six watch the scene with surprise with Discord joining them with popcorn.]

Discord: [casually tosses popcorn into his mouth] Do you like the show, girls?

Pinkie Pie: [takes some of Discord’s popcorn] I love it! It’s about time that Statice loosened up and Fluttershy to get wild in my parties.

Rainbow Dash: [critically] Statice seems to have loosened up but Fluttershy doesn’t seem wild to me. Although, once again, this is the closest to being wild as far as Fluttershy has been in a party.

Rarity: [fawns] Oh! This is so romantic! Look at the way that Statice is holding her while smiling. I’ve never seen him being so tender with anypony!

[She gasps when she sees Applejack besides her.]

Rarity: [stammers nervously] Oh, Applejack! I’m sorry! I didn’t see you there! I didn’t mean to say those things in front of you!

Applejack: [puts a hoof on Rarity’s shoulder] Don’t sweat it, Sugarcube. Statice can date any mare he wants.

Twilight Sparkle: [uncomfortable] Aren’t you worried that he probably moved on with one of your friends?

Applejack: [smiles happily] I don’t plan on letting Statice’s relationship get in my friendship with me and one of my friends. It would be stupid to let a stallion ruin the bond that I created with my friends over the years.

Spike: [sighs] That’s a relief! I thought that this party was going to get ugly!

[The lights turn out and the ponies cry out in fear. Statice’s voice is heard speaking to them.]

Statice: [annoyed] Calm down, everypony! It’s just the lights! We’re just going to turn them on and nothing wrong is going to happen.

[Statice uses his magic to turn on the lights. Everypony is relieved until they see some panda ninjas in the room or in the walls. The Mane Six look surprised while Statice gets serious.]

Statice: [to Pinkie Pie] Pinkie…did you order panda ninjas into the parties?

Pinkie Pie: [shakes her head in fear] I did no such thing! I mean I would have done so if I had a ninja theme but this was not a ninja party so I didn’t invite them.

Statice: [glares at Discord] Is this your idea of a joke, Discord?

Discord: [snaps his fingers to summon a ring over his head] I am completely innocent of these panda ninjas.

Statice: [sighs] Okay then this mess is entirely my fault.

[A small panda leaps in front of Statice and Fluttershy. He takes out his mask to reveal an androgynous and adorable appearance. Several ponies find the panda to be adorable but Statice and him glare at each other.]

Statice: [threateningly] It’s been a long time since I saw you, Shiro.

Shiro: [gets a bamboo katana from out of nowhere] Give us what we came here for, Statice, and we won’t hurt you.

Statice: [glares at Shiro] I refuse.

Shiro: [narrows his eyes] Then I guess that we are going to have to make this the hard way.

[Statice and Shiro prepare to fight when Rainbow Dash bursts into laughter. The action causes several ponies to stare at her while the ninjas get angry.]

Rainbow Dash: [hysterically] I can’t believe those panda chumps are challenging you. I mean, do you expect these cute little fluff balls to be dangerous?

[Shiro throws a bamboo shuriken at Rainbow Dash, who yelps as she barely dodges it. The shuriken hits the wall and causes some fissures. Rainbow Dash looks at the broken wall and then glares angrily at the panda.]

Rainbow Dash: [enraged] Hey! That could have hurt me, you jerk!

Shiro: [threateningly] Mind your own business! This is a serious issue between Statice and my clan!

Statice: [darkly] Shiro…I am not afraid of you or your ninjas. These ponies may not look like warriors but I fought alongside them. They are just as reliable in a fight as your clan or perhaps more.

Shiro: [points his katana at Statice] Do you want to make the comparison?

Statice: [grins] Go ahead. But I have a Spirit of Disharmony that won’t hesitate in playing dirty if you get to anger him. After all, some of these ponies are his friends. Tell me, will you be capable of going all out without hurting anypony and inciting his wrath?

Discord: [summons lightning in one of his claws] I don’t think so.

Shiro: [narrows his eyes] This is not over!

[Shiro throws a smoke bomb that covers the whole room. The ponies cough out the smoke as they leave. Once the smoke disappears, the ninja pandas are gone.]

Statice: [in loud voice] Anypony is all right.

[The Ponyville citizens nod.]

Statice: [nods] Good. Now everypony that is not an Element of Harmony leave please. I have some explaining to do to my friends.

[The Ponyville citizens nod in agreement. Big Macintosh is shown carrying Apple Bloom on his back while Granny Smith hugs Applejack.]

Applejack: [breaks the hug] I’ll be back home early, Granny. I promise you that.

Granny Smith: [worried] Take care, Applejack!

Applejack: [to Big Macintosh] You take care of Apple Bloom, big brother.

Big Macintosh: [nods his head] Eeyup!

Statice: [to Discord] Take the Ponyville citizens to their homes.

Discord: [snaps his fingers] I’ll do!

Statice: [turns his head to the Mane Six and Spike] I have a lot of explaining to do now.

[Statice takes the Mane Six and Spike to a hidden room. The room is full of antiquities, such as vases and sculptures. Spike notices some gems and drools over them, causing Twilight to carry him with her magic.  Rarity gets distracted with the jewels as well so Applejack drags her by the tail. Statice then reaches into a wall.]

Statice: [takes a deep breath] We’ll start the explanation here.

Pinkie Pie: [excitedly] What is this place? It looks like you have a lot of cool things here, Statice! It’s like a museum!

Statice: [solemnly] Technically speaking, it is a museum. Each of the objects in display is a memento of my adventures as a bounty hunter. Each item has a story of how I obtained as well as some background of their past.

Twilight Sparkle: [impressed] I never expected you to have that much outside knowledge, Statice. You can rarely learn anything outside of the boundaries of Equestria.

Statice: [sadly] One day I will tell you girls everything. Right now, we are going to the matter at hoof.

[Statice pushes a brick on the wall. The wall moves to reveal something in front of the Mane Six. They gasp as they see its shadow, only to reveal that it is a small old panda plushy with a long white beard, moustache, and eyebrows. Statice picks it up in his forelegs and hugs it for a few seconds with a small, fond smile on his face.]

Statice: [sadly] Girls. This is the Panda Grandmaster. He was one of my teachers and one of the few beings that I ever considered precious to me. He was like a father to me and the one who taught me how to fight with my body.

Rainbow Dash: [confused] Wait. You’re telling me that a plushy taught you martial arts?

Statice: [shakes his head] No. The Panda Grandmaster taught me martial arts.

Applejack: [disturbed] Then why do you have a plushy of the Panda Grandmaster? No offense, Statice, but you’re a grown stallion!

Statice: [annoyed] Tell that to Big Macintosh and that rag doll that he has!

Applejack: [sore] I was just saying. You don’t need to be so defensive about it.

Twilight Sparkle: [approaches Statice] You still have not answered Applejack’s question, Statice? Why do you have a plushy of the Panda Grandmaster?

[Statice gives the Panda Grandmaster to Rarity, who squeals and hugs it close to her.]

Statice: [uneasy] It’s not a plushy. Well, it wasn’t always a plushy.

Twilight Sparkle: [with a raised eyebrow] What do you mean that it wasn’t always a plushy?

[Statice grabs the Panda Grandmaster from Rarity. The white unicorn does not want to return the plushy and tries to keep it on her arms. Statice uses his magic to teleport it into his arms, making Rarity pout.]

Statice: [strokes the plushy] I was a bounty hunter apprentice when I was the same age as the Crusaders. During one of my early travels I went to a land named Pandasia. It was a land filled with wonders and mysteries.

[A clip shows Statice as a colt in a boat. He checks on the map of Pandasia, which resembles Asia in appearance. He is then shown in a monastery with several pandas of different sides. Among the pandas there is Shiro and the Panda Grandmaster.]

Statice: [continues narrating] My master did a lot of missions in Pandasia so he often let me in a monastery. He was friends with the Panda Grandmaster, who offered to take care of me and teach me martial arts.

Twilight Sparkle: [interrupts the story] Why did he bring you to his missions if you were not going to participate? And why did you needed to learn martial arts?

Statice: [annoyed] My master couldn’t take me in his most serious missions because they were dangerous. He wanted me to learn martial arts because I had no mentor to teach me magic so he wanted me to have something that I could use to survive when not relying on it.

[Statice is seen doing a horse stance with Shiro. Both of them are throwing punches. Shiro has no trouble maintaining the stance but Statice falls on his face. The Panda Grandmaster comes to Statice and helps him stand up.]

Panda Grandmaster: [hits Statice with a two fingered strike] You are doing it wrong,
little pony! Do it like this!

[Panda Grandmaster adopts the horse stance and practices with Statice and Shiro. Foal Statice is seen smiling and laughing with the Panda Grandmaster in several occasions.]

Statice: [finishes narration] I finished my training with the Panda Grandmaster but my master tended to occasionally bring me to Pandasia so I kept in touch with him. He became like a father to me until he passed away.

Twilight Sparkle: [wipes a tear from her eye] That’s so sad, Statice!

Statice: [wipes a tear from his eyes] It was. Wait a second! Where is the Panda Grandmaster?

[Pinkie Pie is hugging the plushy and nuzzling it. Statice growls and teleports it back to his arms. Pinkie Pie deflates after this.]

Rainbow Dash: [confused] Wait just a second! Did you just refer to the plushy as the Panda Grandmaster?

Statice: [rubs his head with a hoof] This is the very awkward part. You see, for all of his wisdom, my master had a strange sense of honor and gave me the weirdest last request ever.  After he passed away, he told me to preserve his body so that others could remember his legacy. So, I used one of my original spells, a Preservation spell, to be exact to turn his dead body into a plushy.

[The Mane Six are horrified with Fluttershy screaming. Everypony covers their ears before Rainbow Dash muffles her screams with a hoof.]

Rarity: [screeches] You made me hug a dead body?

Statice: [annoyed] Don’t judge me, Rarity! You and Pinkie Pie were cuddling with him a minute ago!

Pinkie Pie: [disgusted] That’s before we knew that he was a living being that died!

Statice: [rolls his eyes] He is not a living being anymore girls. My Preservation spell tanned his skin to preserve the outside and turned his organs into stuffing to preserve his inside.

Fluttershy: [takes her mouth away from Rainbow Dash’s hoof] That’s horrible!

Statice: [hugs the Panda Grandmaster] Hey, he asked me to do it and I didn’t want to lose the closest thing to a father that I had since becoming a bounty hunter, girls! This was my way of grieving and respecting his last wish.

Rainbow Dash: [gags] No offense, Statice, but that is sick!

Applejack: [avoids looking at Statice in the eye] Girls! Let’s focus on what really matters! Why were the ninja pandas after you?

Statice: [looks at both sides embarrassingly] They wanted to give the Panda Grandmaster a traditional funeral and in their opinion I insulted his memory by turning him into a plushy. Now they want to get revenge on me!

[The Mane Six are horrified.]

Twilight Sparkle: [gets serious] Okay, Statice. I can forgive what you did with the Panda Grandmaster. But you cannot keep him in Ponyville anymore. What if the ninjas start a war against Ponyville? I don’t want to imagine the innocents that will get hurt over a plushy. You need to let go of him!

[Statice gasps. He attempts to say something but cannot bring himself to answer. He sighs and prepares to give up when a bamboo shuriken is thrown at his direction.]

Statice: [dodges the shuriken] Look out!

[The Mane Six turn around to see Shiro and his ninja pandas ready to fight. Statice and the Mane Si, sans Fluttershy prepare to fight.]

Shiro: [draws a bamboo katana] Give us back the Panda Grandmaster and nopony gets hurt!

Twilight Sparkle:  [takes the Grandmaster away from Statice] If I agree to give you the Grandmaster, do you promise not to hurt anypony?

Shiro: [nods his head] I’ll give you my word!

Statice: [hesitantly] Twilight wait!

Twilight Sparkle: [angrily] No! I won’t let you endanger anypony else with your selfish behavior, Statice! This must be…

Shiro: [throws a pepper bomb at Twilight] Suckers!

Twilight Sparkle: [loudly] Ow!

[Shiro grabs Twilight by the foreleg and throws her at Rarity, who shrieks as she is going to get hit. The Panda Grandmaster is thrown into the air and caught by Fluttershy, who hugs it tightly to her. ]

Spike: [yells out in anger] Twilight! Rarity! That does it pandas! Nopony messes with my favorite mares!

[Spike charges at Shiro. The panda takes a horse stance and defeats Spike with a double fist punch that releases white energy. Spike bursts through a wall upon impact.]

Applejack: [charges at the pandas] Now that does it!

[A panda throws several bamboo spikes on which Applejack steps on.]

Applejack: [yelps out in pain] Ouch! My hooves! My poor, poor hooves!

[Another panda uses the chance to pull out a blowgun to throw two darts into Applejack’s flank. Applejack starts to get dizzy.]

Applejack: [laughs incoherently] Howdy, girls! You won’t believe the kind of dream I’m having.

[Applejack falls unconscious. Rainbow Dash is flying and narrowly avoiding arrays of bamboo shuriken and kunai.]

Rainbow Dash: [tries to give a flying kick] Take this!

[Two ninja pandas dodge her attack, causing her to burst through a wall. Rainbow Dash appears with stars over her head and falls unconscious.]

Statice: [engages Shiro in a sword duel] Don’t let your guard down, girls! These pandas are tougher than they look!

[Statice turns around to see that Twilight, Rarity, and Applejack are unconscious. Rainbow Dash and Spike are on the same wall, also unconscious. Pinkie Pie is getting hogtied by some ninja pandas.]

Statice: [gasps] They’ve been beaten. That means…Fluttershy! Get out of here quick!

[Fluttershy squeaks, carrying the Panda Grandmaster with her. Several ninja pandas block her exit.]

Shiro: [charges at Fluttershy] Panda Grandmaster!

Statice: [charges after Shiro] Fluttershy!

[Fluttershy faints as Shiro throws a smoke bomb. There are sounds of violence heard before Shiro comes out of the castle with a large bag behind his back.]

Statice: [shouts angrily] SHIRO!

[Shiro and his ninja pandas escape. Statice pants before returning to the room.]

Statice: [in panic] Fluttershy! Where are you? Are you okay?

[Statice looks down at the floor and sees the Panda Grandmaster.]

Statice: [gasps] It’s the Grandmaster! But that means that…Fluttershy!

[An image of an unconscious Fluttershy inside a bag is shown as Shiro and his ninjas leave with her. The next image shows the rest of the Mane Six in Ponyville Hospital, all of them are very depressed.]

Rainbow Dash: [angrily] I can’t believe those ninja pandas mopped the floor with us! We are the Elements of Harmony! We defeated beings greater than them! We even won the Equestria Games and they beat us like we were nothing!

Statice: [gives the wall a headbutt, making a hole in it] This is all my fault! Fluttershy was kidnapped and it’s all because of me.

Twilight Sparkle: [pats Statice on the back] That’s enough, Statice! It is your fault that Fluttershy has been kidnapped but wallowing in guilt won’t solve anything. We have to make things right.

Statice: [breathes heavily] You’re right. We still have the Panda Grandmaster. We can trade him for Fluttershy.

Applejack: [disoriented but determined] Then what are we waiting for? Let’s go save Fluttershy!

Rarity: [sadly] But we don’t know where they went.

Statice: [with a serious frown] They went home…to Pandasia! And we’re going after them! Who is with me?

[The group cheers in approval with Pinkie Pie hugging the Panda Grandmaster. Statice uses his Archive spell and locks into an unspecified region in Equestria. His horn lights with magic, teleporting him and the group out of the hospital. They reappear in a coast surrounded by the ocean.]

Twilight Sparkle: [surprised] Where are we?

Statice: [grimly] These are the outskirts of Equestria, near Hobuck. We are going to sail from here to Pandasia.

Twilight Sparkle: [lectures] But we are going to need a boat!

Statice: [lights his horn in magic] I got one right here!

[Statice uses his Hammerspace to open a large tear in reality. He grunts in effort and sweats as a large boat comes out of it. The girls and Spike widen their eyes in surprise while Statice pants from exhaustion.]

Statice: [smiles weakly] Let’s do this!

[Statice faints before the camera fades to black. The next scene shows Statice dressed as a pirate and Pinkie Pie dressed as a parrot, which is a modified version of her chicken costume that she used in “Luna Eclipsed” but with green feathers. Pinkie Pie perches on the green stallion’s shoulder and pecks him on the head with her beak. The boat is sailing in the middle of a storm.]

Pinkie Pie: [in a hoarse voice] Yo, ho, ho! A pirate’s life for me!

Statice: [glares at Pinkie Pie] I thought I told you that if I let you be my parrot during the sailing you were not going to come out with a song.

Pinkie Pie: [whines] But it’s so boring to sail the seas without a shanty!

Rarity: [angrily] You want to complain? You should complain about these outfits! Most of them are rags Statice. Even your coat and hat are rags.

Statice: [rolls his eyes] What did you expect from a pirate, Rarity?

Rarity: [stomps her hoof] Something with more style per say!

[Rarity is wearing a striped shirt, Applejack only has boots, Spike and Rainbow Dash have a bandanna, and Twilight is wearing nothing.]

Statice: [annoyed] Sorry to disappoint you. But I am the Captain of this vessel and there is nothing in your power that you can do to convince me to change the outfits.

[The camera focuses on the boat before lightning is heard. Applejack is now in charge of the steering wheel while Statice is at a cabin with a black eye. Rarity is humming to herself as she is using her measuring tape to make Statice new clothes. Pinkie Pie then gives Statice an eye patch and makes the squeaky sound with her grin.]

Rarity: [merrily] I’ll be done with the costumes in a few minutes.

[Statice goes outside and sees Twilight worried.]

Statice: [concerned] Are you all right, Twilight?

Twilight Sparkle: [sighs] I’m just worried about Fluttershy.

[Statice levitates the Panda Grandmaster to her.]

Statice: [confident] Everything will be okay. We’ll give back the Grandmaster and they’ll give us Fluttershy.

Twilight Sparkle: [smiles at Statice] Thanks Statice. That does make me feel a little better.

Statice: [nods at her] For Fluttershy, I’ll do anything.

Twilight Sparkle: [giggles] What’s the matter, Statice? Do you have a crush on Fluttershy?

Statice: [blushes] No!

Twilight Sparkle: [teasingly] Yes you do!

Statice: [resigned] Okay I do. I have a crush on every pretty mare that I see ever since Cadence taught me what love is. The way she described being with Shining Armor made me feel like trying it out.

Twilight Sparkle: [surprised] Every pretty mare? Does that include me?

Statice: [nods] And Applejack and Fluttershy and the rest of your friends. Fluttershy is special. I just don’t want her to get hurt because of my selfishness. She is always so shy and afraid of everything. It bugs me sometimes but when I think of her getting hurt I get scared just like… the same type of fear that I have when I think that I am about to lose somepony precious to me.

Twilight Sparkle: [smiles at Statice] You really cared about the Grandmaster?

Statice: [looks at the sky] He used to hug me as if I were his own foal. Since I am a ghost to my parents, I had to imagine an imaginary friend hugging me to replace the desire to hug them.

[Statice has a flashback of him as a colt being miserable. The Fausticorn appears and nuzzles him for a few seconds, making him smile. The flashback ends.]

Twilight Sparkle: [with tears in her eyes] That’s so sad.

Statice: [sighs] It is. But I did not care as long as I had the Grandmaster’s hugs when I was a foal. Try to give him one and you’ll see.

[Twilight reluctantly hugs the Panda Grandmaster before sighing in satisfaction.]

Twilight Sparkle: [weakly] This hug does feel good.

[Statice smiles before the night ends. The next scene shows Statice and a tired Applejack back at the steering wheel while the crew sleeps on hammock. Twilight is shown to still be sleeping with the Panda Grandmaster until she wakes up.]

Twilight Sparkle: [gives the Panda Grandmaster to Applejack] Take a break and the Grandmaster. You’re going to need them.

Applejack: [sleep deprived and staring at the Grandmaster] Yes, Twilight.

Twilight Sparkle: [takes the steering wheel] Have you found them yet?

Statice: [uses his magic to form several lenses that focus on his eye] My scope spell has seen an island very close. We will arrive in about an hour.

Twilight Sparkle: [stares at the reflection in Statice’s eyes excitingly] Is that a new spell you made?

Statice: [nods his head] It’s an original spell that increases my vision. It works as a telescope and as a microscope.

[Twilight squeals before they are shown descending to Pandasia. Oriental music is played upon entering.]

Statice: [from within the boat] We are going to need a dress code so take this clothes that I bought from Pandasia in my last visit.

Rarity: [delighted] Oh my! This clothes are to die for! The silk feels so well in my coat and the design is refreshing.

Statice: [to Rainbow Dash] You brought the swords I gave you, Rainbow Dash!

Rainbow Dash: [excitingly] You bet I did! Those panda won’t know what hit them!

Twilight Sparkle: [hopefully] After we rescue Fluttershy, can you tell me more about Pandasia? Equestria does not know much about foreign countries.

Statice: [after a pause] I will give you a lesson about Pandasia but only after we give the Grandmaster to Shiro and his clan.

Applejack: [sounds embarrassed] I got the Grandmaster right here. I hate to say it but he was very huggable.

Statice: [deadpan] Let’s go!

[Statice comes out wearing an indigo yukata. Rainbow Dash uses a deep blue yukata and her two swords strapped to her flanks. Applejack wears a red yukata. Pinkie Pie goes disguised as a ninja. Twilight Sparkle wears a yellow kimono.]

Statice: [points at the monastery] Fluttershy is within the monastery.

Rainbow Dash: [unsheathes her swords] What are we waiting for? It’s time to show those ninjas not to mess with ponies!

Statice: [holds a hoof at Rainbow Dash] We need to make sure that there are no traps here.

[Statice assumes a lotus position and lights his horn with magic. His green aura envelops his body before his spirit comes out.]

Pinkie Pie: [offscreen] Hi Statice!

Statice: [yelps] Pinkie!

[Pinkie Pie’s ghost is shown floating along with Statice]

Statice: [surprised] How did you manage to enter the astral plane? I need to use an Astral Projection spell to enter.

Pinkie Pie: [shrugs her shoulders] I don’t know. I used meditation.

Statice: [rolls his eyes] Let’s check for the traps.

Pinkie Pie: [flies after him] Wee!

[Statice and Pinkie Pie see that the monastery is empty except for Shiro.]

Statice: [grumbles] It looks like Shiro is alone. That means that he either knows that we are coming and is prepared to face me in a duel or that he is going to put a trap on us.

Pinkie Pie: [surprised] How do you know?

Statice: [shrugs his shoulders] It’s cliché.

[Statice and Pinkie Pie return to their bodies.]

Twilight Sparkle: [concerned] How did it went?

Statice: [stands up] Shiro is alone at the monastery waiting for us.

Applejack: [frowns] I don’t like the sound of that. It could be a trap.

Statice: [sighs] What choice do we have? Are we going to walk slowly to our possible dooms or are we going to…

Rainbow Dash: [flies at the monastery] Charge!

[Several panda ninjas throw shuriken at Rainbow Dash. She blocks them with her swords before freezing them with one of them. She then uses the other one to blow the gates of
the monastery open with lightning.]

Shiro: [deadpan] There were doors, rainbow mare. You could have knocked on them to have me open them.

Rainbow Dash: [points a sword at Shiro] You attacked Twilight during the exchange even though you promised that you wouldn’t hurt anypony.

Shiro: [shrugs his shoulders] Statice did turn the Grandmaster in a plushy. Even if he had given him to us we still needed to punish him for his disrespect. Besides I was bored and wanted to fight. You would have done the same.

Rainbow Dash: [gives it a moment of thought] Now that I think about it I would have done the same. But I’m still getting back at you and your ninjas for humiliating me and my friends in Ponyville and kidnapping Fluttershy.

Statice: [from afar] He is mine!

[Rainbow Dash turns around to see Statice walking to Shiro. He levitates the Grandmaster to the cyan Pegasus, who picks him up in her hooves]

Statice: [nods to Rainbow Dash] I made this mess. I’ll clean it up. Enter into the temple behind Shiro and give the Grandmaster to the ninjas there. They will probably give you Fluttershy if you have him with you.

Shiro: [smiles at Statice] I’m glad to see that you came and with the Grandmaster with you. Bring him to the temple and we will give you Fluttershy in one piece.

Statice: [threateningly] Shiro if you hurt her I am going to hurt you tenfold. Fluttershy is on my list of ponies that are off limits.

[Statice uses his Archive spell and puts his hoof on an icon. There are images of Derpy, Meadow Tails, Pinkie Pie, and Fluttershy.]

Statice: [pokes Fluttershy’s picture] She is definitely off limits!

Shiro: [laughs] Don’t worry! She is not hurt! But I won’t say the same about you!

[Shiro unsheathes his bamboo katana and swings it towards Statice. The green stallion uses a shield spell to block some strikes and dodges the others. Spike and the rest of the Mane Six enter into the temple as the fight continues. Statice electrifies his shield, destroying the bamboo katana.]

Shiro: [assumes fighting stance] It will be a paw-to-hoof combat!

[Statice and Shiro charge at each other. Shiro delivers a flying punch followed by a spinning kick. Statice blocks the first blow and dodges the second before kicking Shiro with one hind leg. Statice jumps into the air in an attempt to deliver an axe kick but the panda rolls out of the way. Shiro lights his fists on a white aura and punches, throwing the aura as projectile. Statice is knocked off his hooves]

Shiro: [smugly] Give it up, Statice. You were never capable of using chi for the advanced combat techniques of the clan.

Statice: [uses his horn to light his front hooves on magic] Maybe so but I had something you pandas never had. And that is my magic.

[Statice adopts a horse stance as Shiro charges at him. The panda’s chi fists collide with Statice’s magic front hooves, resulting in an explosion. When the smoke clears, Statice is staggered and ready to faint, only for Shiro to faint into unconsciousness.]

Statice: [pants in exhaustion] I need to go save Fluttershy.

[Statice runs into the temple and opens the door, gasping when he sees Fluttershy dressed in a pink kimono. She looks very beautiful as she is tending a bonsai and nuzzling some ninja pandas.]

Statice: [surprised] Fluttershy.

Fluttershy: [delighted] Statice! I’m glad you came! I was so worried when I heard you were fighting Shiro. Let me tend your wounds.

[Fluttershy flies close to him and checks on Statice’s bruises. Statice takes a deep look at Fluttershy before hugging her close to him. Fluttershy yelps at the gesture.]

Statice: [strokes Fluttershy’s mane] Never leave my side like that again, Fluttershy! I promise that the next time you feel scared I will always be there to protect you, forever if it is necessary.

Rarity: [wipes tears with her handkerchief] Oh that was so romantic!

[Statice and Fluttershy turn around to see the rest of the Mane Six and Spike looking at them. They quickly break the hug after this.]

Statice: [alarmed] What are you girls doing with the ninjas? They’re our enemies! We’re supposed to fight them for kidnapping Fluttershy!

Spike: [eats a jade stone] Don’t worry, Statice. These guys are pretty nice. When they realized that they took Fluttershy by mistake they took care of her until you came back with the Grandmaster.

Statice: [stutters] But why did Shiro attacked me?

Fluttershy: [sadly] He said something about honor. I tried to explain why you turned the Grandmaster into a plushy but he didn’t listen. I hope you were not too rough on him.

Statice: [puts his hooves on Fluttershy’s shoulders] He’d better not have been rough with you. Or I’ll make him regret him.

Rainbow Dash: [laughs as she shows her swords to some ninjas] They tried at first but Fluttershy gave them the Stare after she heard them planning on attacking you.

Statice: [looks at Fluttershy in surprise] You defeated an entire ninja clan with your Stare?

Fluttershy: [avoids Statice’s eyes] I didn’t want to do it but when I heard them planning on attacking you and my friends I had to do something.

Shiro: [walks covered in bruises] Fluttershy-san here has the strength of a warrior that only comes out when her friends are in danger.

Applejack: [chuckles as she hugs some panda ninjas] That’s Fluttershy for you. Even the girl has her limits on how much she can take.

Shiro: [nods his head] Indeed. I’ll admit that you and I were not the best of friends in the monastery, Statice. But now I see that you did love the Grandmaster as much as we did and you only turned him into a plushy because you were blinded by grief.

Statice: [turns his head away from Shiro] I’m sorry for what I did, Shiro. It’s just that it was the first time for me to lose somepony very important to me.

Shiro: [bows his head] You are forgiven.

Pinkie Pie: [hangs upside down from the roof while holding a rope] You guys finally made peace! This calls out for a party!

[Several panda ninjas begin to play music with Japanese musical instruments while the Mane Six are dancing. Twilight is talking with Shiro about Pandasia. Rarity is checking the fabrics of different kimonos worn by female pandas. Rainbow Dash is learning how to properly use her swords by practicing with a panda wielding Dao swords. Pinkie Pie is using smoke bombs to appear and reappear in different locations, each time doing a different dance. Spike is eating jade stones given to him by panda cubs as long as he burns things with his fire breath. Applejack is viewing a cherry blossom tree with an old panda by her side. Statice is then shown in the temple, having a back massage by Fluttershy.]

Fluttershy: [walks on Statice’s back] Oh my! I never expected you to get that hurt for rescuing me. I’m so sorry, Statice!

Statice: [grunts in pain as Fluttershy strokes his shoulder] It’s okay, Fluttershy. I meant what I say after I saw you again. Even though you were not in danger I am glad that I said that.

Fluttershy: [puts a bandage on Statice’s cheek after the massage] I am happy that you care about protecting me, Statice. The girls, and sometimes I, always thought that you were not the kind of pony who openly expressed his emotions. I am glad that you proved me wrong by going to Pandasia and give the Grandmaster to Shiro and his ninjas just to save me.

Statice: [sighs] It wouldn’t have been fair if I had got you hurt by my selfish immaturity. The Grandmaster would have never forgiven me if I had gotten an innocent hurt because of him.

Fluttershy: [kisses his cheek] I’m sorry you had to return the Grandmaster. I know how much he meant to you.

Statice: It’s okay I have six replacements that can always hug me whenever I need one.

[Statice points at Fluttershy before pointing at their friends. He and Fluttershy share a smile. The show’s theme song is heard. Statice and Shiro bow to each other before Shiro offers Statice the Grandmaster for one last hug. Statice gives the Grandmaster a warm hug, holding him into his chest. He smiles fondly at the moment before he gets annoyed when the Mane Six join into the hug. The next image shows the group waving goodbye to Shiro and his clan. Statice gives Pinkie Pie his captain costume, causing Pinkie Pie to squeal and hug Statice before he stares into the sky. It is nighttime and there are stars everywhere sparkling intensely.]

Statice: [narrates] Today I learned that when you grieve for the loss of somepony important you have to move on. It is very hard to move on when that somepony was very close to you but keeping yourself attached to your past will bring you nothing but trouble, in my case it was a ninja clan whose honor I insulted. It is only by moving on with the joys that you have in the present that the pain that you have for losing somepony will disappear until the pain is no longer there anymore.

Fluttershy: [walks in] Mind if I join you, Statice?

Statice: [smiles at Fluttershy] You will always be welcome by my side.

Fluttershy: [blushes but join Statice] How do you feel now?

Statice: [sighs] I’ll miss the Grandmaster but I am happy with what I have. The grief that I had when I lost the Grandmaster has disappeared with the love I have for my friends. I can’t imagine my life without any of you.

Fluttershy: [hugs Statice] And I can’t imagine my life without you as well, Statice.

[Both ponies hug each other. Fluttershy has her eyes closed but Statice has his eyes open. He sees the Fausticorn, who smiles at him and waves a hoof. He blinks and finds that she is gone. He rubs his eyes and sees the Panda Grandmaster smiling at him.]

Panda Grandmaster: [sits in lotus position] It was about time for you to move on, Statice. Now you can move forward and see what the future holds for you. I want you to take care of yourself, and one more thing, take care of that mare. You rarely get to have a female like that in your life.

Statice: [smiles and whispers] I’ll do that, Grandmaster. I promise.

[The camera goes to the night sky. Closing credits roll.]
