The New Princess and the New Element, Part 2

[A recapitulation of the past episode is shown. It shows Twilight Sparkle going off to Ponyville to capture a criminal as an excuse to see her friends. It shows Statice getting into a fight at the bar and then befriending the Mane Six. It shows Statice and Shining Armor fighting, creating a magic beam that destroys the top of Golden Oaks Library. It then shows Discord arriving with the Princesses as Pandora comes out from the beam]

Pandora: [cracking her neck and stretching her back] Ah, it’s been more than a thousand years since I last stretched myself. My limbs are killing me!

Discord: Get the Elements of Harmony, girls!

Twilight Sparkle: Who is she, Discord?

Statice: She is probably his mamma based on the wrinkles on her face.

Pandora: [offended and angrily] I’m his sister.

Statice: [deadpan] Then I can guess your mamma must have had him when you were middle aged. I mean look at yourself, mare. You look as if you personally gave birth to this guy over here.

[Everypony looks horrified at what Statice is doing. Only Discord seems to find what Statice is doing as funny as he is working hard to suppress laughter.]

Pandora: [enraged] I’m his younger sister.

Statice: [genuinely surprised] Really? You don’t look a day younger than him.

[Pandora snaps her fingers and a muzzle appears in Statice’s snout, silencing him. Statice protests but since he is muffled he cannot communicate properly.]

Pandora: Now that the nuisance has been silenced I think it’s time I present myself to you. I am Pandora and next to Discord I used to be the ruler of Equestria.

Princess Luna: That’s impossible! Discord was the only one who governed Equestria before my sister and me! There’s no way that you’re telling the truth.

Pandora: [snaps her fingers and muzzles Luna as well] You think that you know the truth because that is what Discord wanted you to believe so many years ago. The fact is that Discord and I ruled together until he and I had a fall out. And by that I mean that he turned me into an apple seed and planted me in what is now the Everfree Forest for more than a thousand years.

Fluttershy: [looking at Discord] Is this true, Discord?

Discord: [sighs] I might as well tell you my story. Back in the good old days on which I used to rule Equestria with an iron fist, I had a younger sister that governed by my side, Pandora. You can say that Pandora was a spoiled brat, even worse than I ever was! Her sources of chaos were hurricanes, tornadoes, volcanic eruptions, thunderstorms, and other calamities! Although I approved of chaos I disapproved of her destroying my toys, the ponies that I governed. One day, I decided to be a good brother and gently told her to level it down. Do you want to know what her answer was?

Fluttershy: What was her answer?

Discord: [angrily] She threw a meteorite at my face! Her attack destroyed a part of Equestria that eventually became the Badlands. I didn’t mind about that. I could just have easily restored them with my magic. But what I couldn’t restore was my fang! That witch knocked off my fang with her meteorite! And that’s when I drew the line. I fought her and beat her when I tricked her into thinking that I was going to hit her with a magic blast before I teleported us to a forest and turned her into an apple seed.

Twilight Sparkle: [surprised and horrified] You created the Badlands?

Discord: [ignoring Twilight] Anyhow, I was so mad at Pandora for knocking off my tooth that I decided never to think of her. So I used my powers to erase her existence from everypony’s memories, including Celestia and Luna. If my sister did something, everypony was going to remember me being the one who did it because I would rather have credit for her actions than let her have it and then be reminded of her existence. Finally, when my sister’s existence was erased from the minds of everypony I planted her seed into the forest and put a spell so that nopony could find her again. And I lived happily ever after…until Celestia and Luna came back with the Elements of Harmony and sealed me in stone for a thousand years!

Pandora: But you underestimated me, brother? I still had enough juice left in me for a couple of things. The remnants of my magic in the seeds allowed me to corrupt the forest on which you planted me, converting it into the Everfree Forest. I am responsible for the creation of the Timberwolves as well as the forest’s unusual properties.

Twilight Sparkle: You created the Everfree Forest?

Pandora: Don’t ask obvious questions like that, little Princess. Grown-ups are talking now. Anyhow, I spent a thousand years waiting for my release. With my memory erased from the history of Equestria and my brother’s spell to mask my existence I couldn’t do anything to escape. Until one day, I discovered that I could take a physical form: an apple tree with a golden apple.

Applejack: [snorting] There is no such thing as a golden apple!

Pandora: [snapping her fingers and muzzling Applejack] Silence! The problem with my appearance is that I only appeared to those who are followed closely by chaos. Frankly, I expected those fillies, the Cutie Mark Failures, to be the ones to release me given their tendency of ruining everything wherever they go.

Rarity: [angrily] Excuse me but those are our sisters!

Pandora: [threateningly] You want me to muzzle you?

Rarity: [intimidated] No.

Pandora: For a time, I resigned to my fate. The only source of amusement that I have was watching everypony entering into my forest and having the fright of their lives whenever they were attacked by the creatures there. Until one day, I found the most miserable creature of Equestria. He was very hungry and exhausted and he had the most miserable past that anypony has ever seen. Seriously, if he published a book it would be a tearjerker bestseller.

[Statice widens his eyes and narrows them. He attempts to remove his muzzle getting angrier and angrier by the second.]

Pandora: When he saw me as a golden apple, promising nourishment and replenished strength, he couldn’t resist the temptation. He took me and ate me, enjoying my taste and shivering at the power inside of me. Despite the pain, he finished eating me and left to Ponyville, ignorant that I was using his body as a sanctuary until I could make my return. Do you want to know who that pony was?

[Statice is finally capable of removing the muzzle. He snarls at Pandora and charges magic on his horn.]

Pandora: That pony was your new friend, Static. He is also the criminal that you girls were searching for in the first place. Did you know that Static is not his first name? His real name is Statice? Can you believe it? He is named after a flower!

[Pandora begins to laugh before a green bolt of magic hits her in the face. She coughs a little bit before seeing Statice glaring angrily at her. She immediately starts to get enraged.]

Pandora: Did you just dare to strike your betters, you little foal?

Statice: I don’t care who you are. Nopony speaks about my past and uses it as entertainment. Furthermore, how dare you use my guts as a sleeping tent? That’s by far the most disgusting and messed up thing that anypony has ever done to me. Furthermore, since you came out of my guts that makes me your daddy and as your daddy I order you to clean up this mess before I ground you.

[Everypony looks surprised at what Statice has said. Discord is actually laughing hard at Statice’s challenge. Pandora does not look amused.]

Pandora: It seems like a perfect chance to make an example out of you.

[Pandora throws a fireball to Statice. As he prepares to counter, a golden light engulfs him and he is teleported by the side of Celestia.]

Princess Celestia: Go get the Elements of Harmony. I’ll hold her off!

Pandora: Oh, no you won’t!

[Pandora throws another fireball. This time the target is Fluttershy. Seeing her, Discord flies to protect her.]

Discord: Fluttershy!

[Discord is hit by the fireball. However, rather than being destroyed, he is turned into a puzzle box with his face on one side, his upper body in another side, his arms and legs are on one side each, his lower body is on another side, and his tail is on the final side. Fluttershy assumes the worst, picks up the box and holds it while her eyes are tearing up.]

Statice: Fluttershy! Take the box and run for it!

[Pandora throws another fireball at Fluttershy, but she is saved by Rainbow Dash before she brings her to Twilight.]

Twilight Sparkle: I’ll teleport all of us to Canterlot to pick up the Elements of Harmony.

[Twilight Sparkle teleports herself, the rest of the Mane Six, Spike, the box-shaped Discord, and Statice to Canterlot. The Princesses and Shining Armor stay at the library.]

Princess Celestia: I don’t care who you are, Pandora! I won’t allow you to harm my kingdom and my subjects.

[Celestia and Luna prepare for battle, with Shining Armor and Cadence joining by her side. Pandora widens her eyes before snarling at the group.]

Pandora: Your kingdom? Your kingdom! You and your sister are nothing more than filthy thieves. This used to be my kingdom as much as Discord. But you servants didn’t bother to learn your place and used those Elements to steal my kingdom. I don’t care about Discord, he is the stupid one who lost the kingdom in the first place and messed up two perfect chances to recover it. But I am not Discord. I’ll personally punish you for defying me, you self-righteous slaves!

[Pandora throws a magic spell that everypony blocks with a magical barrier. The scene
changes to Canterlot. Everypony falls to the ground and starts to get up. As Statice stands up, he is tackled by Rainbow Dash and pinned to a wall.]

Rainbow Dash: I knew that there was something wrong about you! I should have kicked your flank when I had the chance.

Statice: [angrily] What was that?

Rainbow Dash: You released Pandora, started problems into Ponyville, lied to us about who you are, got Discord turned into a box, and jeopardized the Princess. Equestria is in danger all over again and it’s your fault.

[Statice gets enraged and blasts Rainbow Dash in the stomach with a magic blast and knocking her into her back. Everypony gasps and runs at Rainbow Dash, worried about her welfare.]

Statice: [panting and shaking with anger] Don’t you dare judge me! First of all, you girls were whining about Equestria not being in danger a few moments ago so don’t complain about Pandora running rampant when you girls wished for a threat that required the Elements of Harmony. Second of all, how was I supposed to know that Pandora was an evil spirit inside a golden apple? I was starving and I really needed to eat. How do you expect me to think that there is an evil entity in that nectar-filled ambrosia that I had for dinner when I’m starving after not eating for so long?

Applejack: I guess Statice is right about that, Rainbow. You did wish for a real threat and he obviously didn’t mean to release Pandora.

[Rainbow Dash looks ashamed for her outburst. Applejack smiles at her but then she glares at Statice.]

Applejack: [pointing her hoof] As for you! I can forgive you for making this mess since you didn’t mean for it to happen. What I cannot tolerate is the fact that you lied to us about your name?

Statice: [angrily] I didn’t lie to you about my name. Static is the way I liked to be called, better than my real name. I mean, I’m named after a flower for crying out loud! Do you really expect me to be happy with being referred with a girly name associated with a flower?

Rarity: I don’t know, darling. Statice sounds like a good name. Besides, in the language of the flowers it means…

Statice: It means fond memories. My parents once told me about the secret meaning of flowers. It’s kind of ironic since I’m not very fond of my memories.

Twilight Sparkle: What about your crimes? I guess your name and Pandora are excusable but your history with Shining suggests that you are not a law abiding citizen of Equestria. I won’t let you out of my sight until you tell me about you.

Statice: Man, you’re more annoying than your brother but I’ll tell you if it gets you all out of my back. Are you aware of the former vendetta between the Caputrot family and the Montamane family?

[Everypony shakes their heads, not aware of those two families. Rarity immediately perks up and looks excited.]

Rarity: Ooh, I know about them. Those two families had a feud between each other, one so long that they didn’t even remember how it started. Eventually the fighting stopped when Romeo Montamane and Juliet Caputrot got married. Their marriage was one of the greatest weddings in Canterlot, second only to the wedding of Shining Armor and Cadence.

[Statice smiles at Rarity before nodding.]

Statice: I was to bodyguard Romeo Montamane from harm as the fighting between both families had become more constant. Unfortunately, Romeo was a love-obsessed fool that constantly fell in love with any pretty mare and then got heartbroken over a small rejection or a personality flaw. One day, I had enough and sneaked him into a party hosted by the Caputrot to meet a real mare that could love him back.

Applejack: Wasn’t that a little too dangerous for your friend?

Statice: More dangerous was to let him continue mourning over a girl who didn’t love him when he didn’t even dare to ask her out in the first place. Continuing to the story, Romeo met Juliet in the party and they became friends with each other. Some weeks later they fell in love with each other and I was forced to make sure that nopony was following Romeo in his secret dates with Juliet.

Rarity: How scandalous! How romantic! A forbidden romance is always the most sacred ones in any love story ever.

Statice: It’s not when you’re the messenger. One day, Tybalt, Juliet’s cousin found out about the romance with Romeo. Tybalt was the one in the family who hated the Montamane the most. His hatred for the family was downright irrational to the point where even the head of the family forbid him from attacking the Montamane family. He tried to attack Romeo out of hatred, wanting to use his meetings with Juliet as an excuse to fight him.

Rainbow Dash: He sounds like a jerk.

Statice: [smiling] Yes, he was. I am proud to say that I fulfilled my duty as a bodyguard to Romeo and easily defeated Tybalt in a duel. Unfortunately, that jerk was a sore loser and called the Royal Guards to arrest me.

Pinkie Pie: [eating popcorn] Ooh, what happened next?

Statice: I ran away from the Royal Guards until they cornered me. Having no choice left, I fought them. Much to my surprise and disappointment, the Royal Guards turned out to be wimps as I effortlessly beat them all down. Only one guard actually displayed enough promise to earn my respect… and my loathing.

Twilight Sparkle: Shining Armor.

Statice: I fought Shining Armor with all of my strength but his barrier spells were too much for me and reinforcements were arriving. So I escaped from Canterlot and retreated. Some days later, Romeo visited me and told me that he was going to marry Juliet, finally ending the feud between both families. He paid me and we both parted ways.

Rarity: [whipping her eyes with tissues] That was so romantic.

Statice: [frowning] The next time I met Shining was in cases on which I had to arrest criminals in the borders of Equestria. Apart from being a bodyguard, I was also a bounty hunter for other kingdoms that had criminals that hid all over Equestria. For coincidence or destiny, I met Shining repeatedly and we often fought each other in every encounter. I often escaped him and did so with the prisoner that he was going to arrest, getting paid for my services in the process while my rivalry and hatred for Shining increased.

Fluttershy: What happened then…if you don’t mind me asking?

Statice: My last meeting with Shining Armor was a bodyguard job in a diplomacy mission for Cadence. Despite our hatred for each other, we put our differences aside for Cadence’s safety.  During the mission, I established a friendship with Cadence and noticed the romantic relationship blooming between her and Shining Armor. I personally taunted Shining about his lack of romantic life with her and occasionally helped him about it. After the mission was over, Shining proposed to her and we parted ways in cordial terms.

Rarity: How romantic! You got to tell me about their love story later, Statice!

Statice: I promised Shining Armor and Cadence that I wasn’t going to do that, Rarity. So, back to the story, I continued working as a bounty hunter and bodyguard, amazing a large fortune in the process. After finishing what probably became my last job, I befriended an old dragon in his final days. He was about to pass away and his family was squabbling over who was going to inherit his treasure.

Applejack: That’s just sick? How can they care more about the money than their own family?
Statice: Most dragons care about that. No offense, Spike.

Spike: None taken.

Statice: I visited the dragon for a while and befriended him until he passed away. Since I was the only one who cared about him, he inherited me his fortune. His relatives didn’t take it well and tried to roast me alive. I ran away, used my Hammerspace to collect my inheritance, and then teleported myself to somewhere safe in Equestria. With my fortune collected, I decided to retire from my trade at a young age and begin a life of peace in Equestria.

Rainbow Dash: That was so awesome. Did you actually get a fortune from a dragon and escaped his enraged family.

Statice: [annoyed] Don’t remind me. After I came to Equestria, I tried to go to any place on which I could settle down. Unfortunately, most of those places had jerks that pushed me a little too far so I kicked their butts. Then I was forced to leave when the Royal Guards tried to arrest me. In my travels, I met a rock farmer who told me about Ponyville, saying that his daughter lived there and had a perfect life there filled with happiness and joy.

Pinkie Pie: [bouncing] Ooh, ooh, that’s my dad! You know my dad! How is he? How does he look like? It’s been a while since I’ve seen him.

[Twilight seals Pinkie Pie’s lips shut with her magic and walks to Statice. She stares at him sternly and Statice stares back. Before Statice can say anything, Twilight hugs him. Statice looks at Twilight, surprised.]

Twilight Sparkle: I’m sorry for not trusting you.

Statice: What’s wrong with you mare?

Twilight Sparkle: I thought that you were just a petty criminal that didn’t care about anypony. But now I see that you’re just a nice pony that has been through a lot. You’ve never had a real friend that cared for your happiness, haven’t you?

[Statice looks surprised, confused, and then unsure. Twilight’s question really took him by surprise.]

Statice: I’m not sure about that. I had friends who cared about me but it’s been a while since I last saw them. I’m not sure if I have a friend anymore.

Twilight Sparkle: [smiling] Well then. Now you have seven friends that can stand by your side.

[The rest of the Mane Six and Spike hug Statice, surprising him. He reluctantly returns the hug before smiling confidently.]

Statice: As much as you girls enjoy this little scene we still have to stop an evil spirit of chaos and disharmony from destroying your home. We need to get the Elements of Harmony right away.

Twilight Sparkle: Don’t worry. They’re in the next room. We’ll just enter, put them, return back to Ponyville, and then defeat Pandora.

[Statice frowns]

Statice: You jinxed it, Twilight.

Twilight Sparkle: What?

Statice: Whenever somepony says that something is going to be easy things will get immediately harder afterwards. When you described your plan as if it were easy you jinxed it.

Twilight Sparkle: [stomping a hoof] I did not!

Statice: [opens the door and reveals horse-shaped golems waiting for them and guarding the Elements of Harmony] Yes, you did.

[The Mane Six and Spike look worried with the golems. Statice leads the group into running away into the castle’s courtyard. Once they’re there they assume a fighting position.]

Statice: There are at least 10 golems trying to destroy us.

Twilight Sparkle: How do you know that?

Statice: I counted them while you were stuck in shock. If you’re going to stand there in front of a bunch of enemies at least do something useful like counting the numbers to know how many of them are we going to face.

Rainbow Dash: Why use 10 golems?

Statice: I assume that 6 of them are for the wielders of the Elements of Harmony, 3 are for me, Spike, and Discord, and the last one is just for fun.

Twilight Sparkle: How are we going to take them?

Statice: No disrespect but Fluttershy, Rarity, Spike, and Discord are useless in this fight. They are either too weak or in no condition for fighting. That leaves you, me, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, and Pinkie Pie in charge of defeating at least 2 golems each.

Applejack: How are we going to do that? I can buck wood to pieces but I don’t have enough leg strength to shatter stone.

Rainbow Dash: The same goes with me. I once tried to smash through rock and ended up hurting myself.

Pinkie Pie: I don’t think I have any surprises that can take care of those meanies.

Twilight Sparkle: My magic reserves increased as an alicorn but I’m not sure if I can hold them on.

Statice: If I can do it then so can you.

[The 10 golems arrive. Pinkie Pie gives Discord to Fluttershy, who follows Rarity and Spike into a corner. Twilight and Statice charge their horns, Pinkie Pie charges her party cannon, and Rainbow Dash and Applejack assume fighting positions. Statice’s magic bolt does not affect his golem but Twilight’s bolt at least makes a few fissures. Rainbow Dash attempts a flying kick like in “Spike at your Service” but ends up hurting herself. Applejack attempts to buck one of the golems but hurts her hind legs in the process. Pinkie Pie’s party cannon do not work on them.]

Statice: Darn it!

[Statice uses his magic to levitate Applejack and Rainbow Dash close to him.]

Rainbow Dash: [clutching her leg] What’s your idea now, genius?

Statice: Applejack give me your hind legs!

Applejack: [surprised] My what now? Hey!

[Statice grabs Applejack’s left hind leg and puts it on his horn. A green magical aura engulfs Applejack’s hind leg before Statice does the same with the other hind leg.
Applejack suddenly stands up, surprised at her sudden burst of strength.]

Applejack: What in tarnation did you do?

Statice: I use an Enhancement spell to increase the strength of your kicks. Not only that, but if you use your Earth Pony magic to absorb energy from the ground you can increase your speed and strength.

Applejack: Well there is only one way to find out.

[Applejack concentrates and the aura surrounding her hind legs turns orange. She then smiles and moves towards a golem with amazing speed. She bucks him on the leg. A close up shows her hooves cracking stone and sending a magical wave that breaks through the body, destroying the golem. Applejack rears and waves her front hooves.]

Applejack: Yeehaw!

[As everypony watches what Applejack did, Twilight takes the chance to destroy one of the golems with a charged magical blast. Statice notices that Pinkie Pie is in trouble and pushes her out of the way from a golem.]

Statice: Pinkie Pie, are you okay?

Pinkie Pie: [shaking her head] No, I’m not Statice! I threw everything at that rock monster and nothing worked. The only thing that hurt him where my fireworks and that only angered him!

[Statice widens his eyes and smiles mischievously]

Statice: Have you ever tried lightning-works? They’re like fireworks but better.

[Pinkie Pie gasps and jumps excitingly]

Pinkie Pie: No but it sounds exciting. How are the lightning-works? Do they make pretty lights like the fireworks? Are they fun to watch?

Statice: Oh, you’ll see. But first, fill your party cannon with fireworks. We’re going to need them for this.

[Statice concentrates and makes a large lightning ball, which then turns into a glass ball with electricity on the inside. Pinkie Pie fills her party cannon with fireworks before Statice shoves the crystalized lightning ball inside of it. Both ponies point the party cannon at the golem that was fighting Pinkie Pie.]

Statice: Ready, set…

Pinkie Pie: Lightning!

[Pinkie Pie fires the party cannon, releasing the fireworks and the lightning ball. When the projectile crashes on the golem, it is raised into the sky where it explodes into blue and yellow lights that release green lightning that resemble Pinkie Pie’s cutie mark. Then the lightning disappears and is replaced by 5 greater lightning coming from the centers, drawing Statice’s cutie mark in the sky. Statice smiles smugly while Pinkie Pie has a wide grin similar to the “Cutie Mark Chronicles” before she hugs Statice.]

Pinkie Pie: Best lightning-works ever!

[A golem attacks Statice and Pinkie Pie but is distracted by several rocks thrown by Rarity.]

Statice: Rarity, what are you doing here? You’re going to get hurt!

Rarity: I may hate to dirty my hooves but I’m not going to let my friends to remain in danger while I stand there and do nothing about it.

[Statice notices that Rarity is still using his bracelets and smiles.]

Statice: Rarity! Those bracelets you’re using are just not decoration. They’re unique articles. I used a Magic Storage spell to transmit my magic inside the crystals. When I use these bracelets my magic reserves increase based on the amount of magic stored inside the gems of the bracelets. Use my magic and mix it with your own to create a powerful magic blast to destroy the golem.

[Statice and Pinkie Pie begin dodging the golem’s relentless attacks. Rarity concentrates, grinding her teeth as her blue aura glows. The crystals in the bracelets release a magical aura that surrounds Rarity’s horn increasing the size of her spell. The crystals lose their supernatural glow as Rarity’s spell turns into a sphere that she fires into the golem, destroying it.]

Rarity: [laughs triumphantly] I AM RARITY!

Statice: [annoyed] We all know who you are!

[Statice throws repeated magic blasts at an injured golem, destroying it. He then notices Rainbow Dash still fighting her golem. She has injured it and began cracking it but her body is completely hurt.]

Statice: I got to go save Rainbow Dash! You girls help Twilight and Applejack out!

[Rarity gasps at being left with facing three golems with Pinkie Pie.]

Pinkie Pie: It’s just me or Statice has a crush on Dashie?

[Rainbow Dash is knocked down by a golem and Statice approaches her.]

Statice: Do you need a hoof.

Rainbow Dash: Get over yourself. I have it just where I want it!

[Rainbow Dash attempts to fly to the golem but Statice bites her tail.]

Statice: At this rate, you will defeat the golem at the cost of great injuries. You won’t be on perfect condition to use the Elements of Harmony. I have a spell that will help you destroy this golem but I need you to trust me.

Rainbow Dash: [sighing] What is the plan?

[Statice whispers something onto her ear, surprising her. She then smiles evilly before flying away. Statice concentrates, making magical circles surround the golem from different angles. Rainbow Dash appears to fly to the golem but instead goes into the magic circles. She slams her four hooves into the circle, causing magic to spiral into the circle and launch Rainbow Dash into the golem and other circles. Rainbow Dash bounces between circles, striking the golem into pieces. Background noises that resemble a pinball game are heard as she destroys her enemy.]

Rainbow Dash: [laughs triumphantly] That Warp spell was awesome. We have to do it again sometime.

Fluttershy: EEK!

Statice and Rainbow Dash: Fluttershy.

[Fluttershy is running away from a golem with Spike holding Discord’s puzzle box. Immediately afterwards, Rainbow Dash uses her aerial skills to distract the golem while Statice consoles Fluttershy.]

Statice: Are you okay, Fluttershy?

Fluttershy: [hugging Statice] I was so scared. All I could do was to scream in fear and run for my life.

[Statice gets serious and glares at the golem. He focuses his horn into a large conical shape above him with a small hole in the center.]

Statice: If you’re afraid, Fluttershy…then let it all out. Scream as hard as you can!

[Fluttershy nods timidly. She draws a breath and prepares to scream.]

Statice: Move Rainbow Dash!

[Rainbow Dash moves out of the way as Fluttershy screams in Statice’s magical megaphone. Her scream is weak like in “Green isn’t your Color” but the megaphone increases its volume so much that the golem breaks into pieces. Fluttershy looks at the golem and realizes she defeated him.]

Fluttershy: [excitingly] I did it! I can’t believe I did it!

[As Fluttershy is celebrating, another golem is destroyed by Twilight, Applejack, Rarity, and Pinkie Pie off-screen. Statice notices another golem approaching him. He levitates the broken pieces of previous golems and throws them at the upcoming golem destroying him. Statice is now visibly exhausted.]

Statice: Nine golems down and one to go.

[The last golem approaches Statice and the Mane Six. By now, each of them are exhausted but still determined to fight. Spike notices that Discord’s box has a nearly complete side and proceeds to finish that side. Upon completing it, Discord’s lion arm appears, snaps its fingers and destroys the golem. It then repairs all the damage in Canterlot and restores the health and magic of the Mane Six and Statice.]

Statice: [surprised] What just happened?

Spike: [excitingly] It’s Discord. I solved a side of the puzzle box and then Discord’s arm appeared and did the finger-snapping. Next thing I know the last golem was destroyed, everything returned to normal, and you are all cured.

Twilight Sparkle: So that means that if the puzzle box is solved then we can release Discord from his prison.

Statice: I got the perfect mare for the job.

[Statice levitates the Discord puzzle box to Pinkie Pie. She grins and makes the squeaky sound before beginning her work.]

Twilight Sparkle: We still need the Elements of Harmony to stop Pandora. Come on, everypony!

[Everypony runs into the castle and recover the Elements of Harmony before they teleport back to Ponyville. Everypony has been captured and put into cells while Timberwolves are acting as guards. The guards are all defeated and Pandora is still in combat with the Princesses. Celestia and Luna are defeated while Pandora is trying to destroy a shield of love made by Shining Armor and Cadence, both of them at the brink of exhaustion. The Mane Six and Spike look horrified at what is happening right now and attempt to intervene before Statice stands in their way.]

Statice: We cannot rush in like that.

Twilight Sparkle: Statice, our friends and family are in danger. We need to help them!

Statice: We are going to help them. But we need to be discrete and not make any rash decisions.

[He suddenly sees a sad Derpy in a cage and gets serious. The Mane Six notice that he is looking very somber.]

Statice: On second thought, this is by far the most morally disgusting thing that I’ve ever seen in my entire life. We’re putting a stop to this madness right now!

[Statice charges at the Timberwolves with Spike on his back, destroying them with magical blasts. The Mane Six are surprised and annoyed by Statice’s hypocritical behavior before they join in. Statice notices that he and Spike are surrounded by Timberwolves.]

Statice: Spike, do you want a chance to shine in the spotlight?

Spike: Yes, but I’m not feeling brave right now.

[Statice uses his Hammerspace to summon a large green jewel that resembles the one Spike ate in “Just for Sidekicks” but with magical energy inside of it. He then shoves it into Spike’s mouth before the baby dragon eats him. Spike suddenly has a face that makes it obvious that he is going to burp. Statice levitates Spike and emits a battle cry as Spike fires an adult size fire tongue to destroy the Timberwolves. Everypony is surprised at what Spike did before shrugging it off and parting to different directions.]

Statice: How is that for a chance to shine in the spotlight?

Spike: [with a sore throat and smiling] It was worth it.

[Spike faints and Statice puts him inside of Hammerspace to prevent him from getting hurt. Rainbow Dash appears and kicks a Timberwolf that was going to attack Statice.]

Statice: Where are the others?

Rainbow Dash: Fluttershy sent her animal friends to a safe place. Applejack and Rarity went to release their sisters as well as the other citizens. Pinkie Pie is still solving the Discord puzzle box and I think that Twilight is fighting Timberwolves at the other side of the town.

[Statice and Rainbow Dash keep fighting Timberwolves but get exhausted.  Statice then has an idea.]

Statice: Rainbow Dash I need you to carry me and perform a Sonic Rainboom before bringing me down to earth. If you do that we’ll defeat the Timberwolves.

Rainbow Dash: Are you crazy? The Sonic Rainboom needs me to be very fast. I cannot be fast enough if I’m carrying you.

Statice: [angrily] No wonder why you’re not a Wonderbolt despite your heroic feats. You’re a wimp!

Rainbow Dash: What did you say, punk?

Statice: I’m saying that you’re too much of a wimp to join the Wonderbolts. If you want me to take it back then do the Sonic Rainboom with me on your back.

Rainbow Dash: I’ll show you!

[Rainbow Dash hugs Statice close to her and flies at maximum speed. She performs a Sonic Rainboom before flying down to Ponyville. At this point Statice uses his magic and his horn displays a rainbow aura filled with lightning. A magic field surrounds both ponies as they land in Ponyville, releasing several lightning bolts colored like a rainbow that destroyed all the Timberwolves in Ponyville. Rainbow Dash and Statice emerge from the smoke of the blast, still hugging each other. They notice how close they are and pull away from each other stammering.]

Statice: [blushing] Good job. You’re really Wonderbolt material. I’m sorry for saying all that garbage about you and your skills.

Rainbow Dash: [blushing] It’s okay. We got to go meet Twilight and the others.

[Statice and Rainbow Dash leave the place. By now, all of the Ponyville citizens have been rescued and seen what happened, with the Crusaders noticing them both together.]

Apple Bloom: Is that Rainbow Dash’s coltfriend?

Sweetie Belle: I hope not. He is dreamy.

[Sweetie Belle has hearts on her eyes and is obviously infatuated with Statice]

Scootaloo: I don’t know but if he is then they are the most awesome couple ever.

[The Mane Six and Statice rejoin. Pinkie Pie is trying to solve Discord’s puzzle box in an unorthodox way involving front hooves, hind hooves, teeth, and tail. Needless to say, everypony is disturbed and unsure of her method.]

Twilight Sparkle: How did you do?

Applejack: Rarity and I got everypony out of their cells.

Statice: Rainbow Dash and I took down the Timberwolves with a Sonic Rainbolt

[Everypony looks at Statice questioningly, especially with the term.]

Fluttershy: What’s a Sonic Rainbolt… if you don’t mind me asking?

Statice: It was a combo attack on which I use lightning magic and combine it with Rainbow Dash’s Sonic Rainboom.

Rainbow Dash: That’s a stupid name and why did you get to name it when I did most of the job?

Statice: Because I had the idea on the first place. Besides, it’s a fitting name given that you’ll become a Wonderbolt in the future.

Rainbow Dash: [blushing] You really think so?

Statice: [smiling reassuringly] I do.

Twilight Sparkle: [annoyed] Let’s go to the part where we defeat Pandora, shall we?

Statice: Sounds like a plan.

Twilight Sparkle: By the way, where is Spike?

[Statice uses his Hammerspace to bring a sleeping Spike out.]

Statice: He’s busy taking a nap until this is all over.

Twilight Sparkle: [concerned] I guess I can let Spike there until Ponyville is no longer in danger.

Statice: Fine but let me put that on my checklist so that I won’t forget. I have a bad memory when I’m under stress.

[Statice puts Spike back onto Hammerspace and then summons a virtual screen that resembles an iPad. The Mane Six look surprised as Statice puts a hoof on one square that says checklist. The checklist has items that list objectives like visiting Ponyville, defeating Pandora, and then getting Spike out of Hammerspace is written out as an objective.]

Twilight Sparkle: What was that?

Statice: This is my Archive spell, my masterpiece. I can use it for information storage and gathering. I can store maps. I can write checklists and schedules. I can save images and events as if they were photos or plays. And I can also write personal information about others.

[Statice puts an option that shows a profile of Twilight Sparkle. It has her age, background, and personality profile. Statice then switches to profiles of Pinkie Pie, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, and Fluttershy, surprising each of the Mane Six. They are all disturbed except for Twilight, who has an insane glow in her eyes.]

Statice: I’m not teaching you my spell, Twilight.

[Twilight looks disheartened and then angry.]

Twilight Sparkle: Fine. Let’s go defeat Pandora and save Equestria.

[Twilight Sparkle rears and waves her forelegs. The rest of the Mane Six does the same. Statice looks annoyed but does it anyway before Twilight gives him a quick kick in the stomach that knocks the wind off of him and gallops to where Pandora is. The rest of the Mane Six look surprised before shrugging it off and leaving Statice.]

Statice: [coughing] You did that on purpose, you jerk!

[Statice recovers and gallops after the girls. The scene changes to Pandora still continuing her attack Shining Armor and Cadence, both of them physically exhausted as they are incapable of maintaining the shield anymore.]

Twilight Sparkle: Leave them alone, Pandora!

[Pandora turns around and sees the Mane Six posing heroically. She glares at them menacingly before approaching them.]

Pandora: So you’re the six brats with Hero complex that dared to stand up against my brother and then dared to corrupt him by turning him good. I’ve been looking for the chance to destroy you ever since I sensed you using the Elements of Harmony against Nightmare Moon.

Rainbow Dash: Well, you’re about to find out what we can do. Let’s get her, girls!

[Twilight concentrates to make the spell to defeat Pandora. However, Pandora has an evil grin and she snaps her finger. Red electricity bursts from the Elements that electrocute Pinkie Pie, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, and Fluttershy. They all scream in pain, preventing Twilight from completing the spell.]

Twilight Sparkle: Girls! What did you do to the Elements, Pandora?

Pandora: I interrupted the spell. You really think that I was going to stand there and let you blast me with a spell powerful enough to defeat me? I only needed to prevent you from completing it. It doesn’t matter if those Elements are more powerful than me. As long as I prevent the caster of the spell from using their power they are nothing more than jewelry. Of course I can destroy your friends to prevent you from using the Elements.

Twilight Sparkle: No!

Pandora: Then let’s make a deal. Swear in your name as an alicorn and as a Princess of Equestria that you will never use the Elements of Harmony ever again. Swear it on your magic and I won’t hurt your friends anymore. Remember, when you break an oath that is sealed with your magic you risk your ability to lose magic…forever.

[Twilight Sparkle gasps but then stops when she sees her friends suffering. She looks at the defeated forms of Celestia and Luna. She then looks at Shining Armor and Cadence, both of them too weak to stand.]

Twilight Sparkle: I, Princess Twilight Sparkle the alicorn, swear to not use the Elements of Harmony ever again.

[She takes off her crown, which loses its glow. This causes the other Elements to stop electrocuting their owners. The rest of the Mane Six look at the defeated Twilight with horror in their eyes. Pandora bursts into evil laughter as evil music begins to play.]
Pandora: I think that this calls out for a song.

[Pandora prepares to sing but is hit by a magical blast on the face. She angrily turns around and sees Statice standing defiantly in front of her.]

Statice: Nopony wants to hear you sing, old hag!

[Pandora gets enraged and charges after Statice. He lights his horn and does battle with her off-screen. The rest of the Mane Six gather around Twilight.]

Twilight Sparkle: [crying] I’m sorry, girls. This is all my fault.

Rainbow Dash: What are you talking about, Twilight? Statice is fighting against Pandora. She is distracted!  We can take the chance and blast her with the Elements.

Twilight Sparkle: A magic oath is something that cannot be broken, Rainbow? If I break it I will lose my ability to use magic forever. If another threat comes out I will never be capable of using neither the Elements of Harmony nor my magic to protect Equestria ever again. Pandora beat me.

[The rest of the Mane Six are horrified with the dilemma. Pinkie Pie desperately pulls the Discord puzzle box.]

Pinkie Pie: We can summon Discord by opening Discord’s box and then he can beat Pandora and turn her back into Pandora’s apple again.

[Statice is blasted and crashes near the Mane Six. They are all horrified when they see him covered in burns and bruises. Pandora is about to attack them again but Shining Armor and Cadence make another shield to protect them. Pandora gets enraged and keeps attacking the shield.]

Statice: [a little dizzy] Discord’s box and Pandora’s apple. Those are very stupid names. You know, I think that the apple suits Discord better and the box is more fitting for Pandora.

Applejack: Come on, Pinkie! You need to solve the puzzle right away.

Pinkie Pie: [deflating and desperate] I’m trying! I’m trying!

Statice: Girls! Use the Elements of Harmony!

Twilight Sparkle: I cannot use them, Statice! I swore on my magic never to use my Element in order to protect my friends. Without my Element of Harmony we cannot use the full power of the Elements of Harmony.

[Statice suddenly grabs the Element of Magic and puts it on his head, surprising Twilight.]

Twilight Sparkle: What are you doing?

Statice: What does it look like I’m doing? I’m taking your place as the Element of Magic to defeat Pandora!

[Everypony looks at Statice as if he were crazy. Pinkie Pie stops trying to solve Discord to look at him.]

Twilight Sparkle: You cannot use the Element of Magic. I am the Element of Magic. It cannot be used by somepony else.

Statice: [annoyed] Do you have any other ideas that can get us out of here, Princess? We are running out of options.

Twilight Sparkle: I’m not sure if you can use the Element of Magic. And even if anypony can use the Elements you would need a strong friendship to use them in the first place.
Statice: [snorting] It took you a day of knowing the other Elements and a fight with an evil entity to develop a friendship strong enough to use them. I think I can do the same given our one-day meeting and our fight with Pandora. Just trust me out on this one.

Twilight Sparkle: But you don’t know anything about friendship! You even admitted it, yourself!

Statice: But I have a master that was just like me.

[Statice grabs Twilight’s hooves and looks into her eyes. Twilight blushes at the gesture while the others look at Statice.]

Statice: You are a magic prodigy. I saw it during your fight with the golems and your interest on my spells. But, above that, you are a genius in friendship. You spent your whole life focused on studying and yet you managed to do something that very few are capable of doing in such a short amount of time. You actually started the most powerful friendship in Equestria despite your lack of social skills, a friendship so powerful that it defeated the greatest enemies you ever faced and saved Equestria countless times. You are a pure, beautiful soul worthy of respect and admiration and worthy of being a Princess. And when this is all over… I would love to learn from you the Magic of Friendship.

[Twilight Sparkle blushes and sheds a few tears with a happy smile on her face. Rarity, Fluttershy, and Pinkie Pie are moved by the scene. Applejack smiles warmly. Rainbow Dash looks annoyed but has tears in her eyes, showing that she liked the speech. Twilight hugs Statice, putting her horn into his and mixing their magic auras together. Twilight’s tiara morphs into a crown with a green crystal that resembles Statice’s cutie mark in the center. Statice separates from Twilight and his eyes turn white as several rapid flashbacks of Twilight’s life are displayed in front of him, from the first episode to her coronation. He starts floating and gathers the rest of the Elements of Harmony around him. The group fires a rainbow-colored lightning that blasts Pandora into another dimension and restores the damage created in Ponyville. Statice then faints from exertion.]

[The next scene shows Statice waking up while the Mane Six, the Princess, and Shining Armor look worryingly at him.]

Statice: What just happened?

Pinkie Pie: [bouncing] Ooh, ooh, ooh… You took Twilight’s Element of Magic and turned it into a crown and then we used the Elements of Harmony to take down Pandora with a rainbow lightning-work. We saved Equestria again, except for you who saved it for the first time. Ooh, I have to throw you a “Congratulations for saving Equestria for the first time” party after this. Oh, and Discord is still a puzzle box but we still don’t know why he is like that.

[Pinkie Pie resumes to playing with the Discord puzzle box. Statice looks at the crown at his head and gives it to Twilight. Surprisingly enough, the crown turns back into a tiara when it touches Twilight’s hooves. Statice then takes it and it turns into a crown. He returns it to Twilight and it reverts back into a tiara. He repeats the process before looking at Celestia.

Statice: Is this thing supposed to change like that?

Princess Celestia: The Elements of Harmony are powerful tools, my little pony. They change their appearance depending on the user. They were very different from the usual jewelry they are now when Luna and I used them in the past.

Statice: What does it mean?

Princess Celestia: It means that you are the new Element of Magic, Statice.

[Statice uses Hammerspace, retrieves a still sleeping Spike, takes a drink of water, and spits it out.]

Statice: What? I cannot be the Element of Magic. I’m not fit for the role, Princess!

Princess Celestia: You used the Magic of Friendship to defeat Pandora, Statice. In my book, that is enough to make you the Element of Magic.

Statice: Princess, the only magic I’m good at is the Magic of Enmity. My past is not pretty. My actions put me on bad terms with a lot of ponies. I’m forbidden from setting hoof in some countries and almost everypony I know wants to kick my butt. I’m not good at the Magic of Friendship.

Princess Luna: You admitted that you wanted to learn the Magic of Friendship to Twilight Sparkle. Admitting the truth you kept hidden underneath yourself is the first step towards learning this powerful magic.

Cadence: I support Statice becoming the Element of Magic.

Shining Armor: [sighing] If Cadence and the other princesses agree with this decision then I guess I can give Statice my support on this.

Statice: But Twilight is the rightful owner of the Element of Magic. I have no right to take that away from her. Besides, don’t take this the wrong way but I don’t want to be an Element of Harmony. I retired as a bounty hunter so that I can have a life of peace. I’m too young to go around saving Equestria.

Rainbow Dash: [snorting] Oh, please. You’re the same age as we are.

Statice: No, I’m not! I’m…

[Spike snores a large magical flame that silences Statice. The Mane Six, the princesses, and Shining Armor look surprised.]

Applejack: Really? You’re a year younger than us.

Fluttershy: Actually… he is two years younger than me.

Twilight Sparkle: I know that this is too much for you, Statice. But the Elements of Harmony are necessary for the protection of Equestria. So, please, I beg of you to join us.

Statice: [sighing] Fine. I’ll be your Element of Magic…but only until I find somepony worthy of this Element more than me or until I find a way to give it to its rightful owner. Let’s seal the deal.

[Statice offers his hoof, expecting a hoof bump. Twilight gets a mischievous smile, flying to her friends and whispering something into their ears. The girls giggle and smile at Statice, who looks at them unsure.]

Twilight Sparkle: Speaking about sealing the deal, we would like to give you a traditional welcome into our group.

Statice: Fine. But get it over with quickly.

[The Mane Six kiss Statice on the face. Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy fly above him and kiss him on both sides of the forehead. Twilight and Rarity kiss him in both cheeks. Pinkie Pie and Applejack kiss him in both sides of the chin. Statice blushes heavily after the simultaneous kisses. The Princesses giggle and Shining Armor looks dismayed. Statice faints unconscious and the screen fades to black.]

[Statice wakes up in Canterlot, dressed in a black tuxedo. He stands up and notices that the Mane Six are dressed beautifully. He frowns and blushes deeply upon seeing them, rubbing his face in embarrassment for the kisses they gave him as well as being flustered by their beauty. He sees that he is standing in a balcony, surrounded by Royal Guards and an annoyed Shining Amor. Underneath him are several citizens in Canterlot celebrating. By his side is Princess Celestia.]

Princess Celestia: Today, we celebrate Equestria being saved once again thanks to the efforts of the Elements of Harmony. We would also love to welcome Statice, the new member of the Elements of Harmony as well as the new personal student of Princess Twilight Sparkle!

[Statice looks surprised at Celestia for the announcement. He looks at the Mane Six who wave at him. Twilight silently gestures him to follow her. Statice follows her with the other Elements following her.]

Twilight Sparkle: Are you enjoying the celebration?

Statice: I guess I’m still in shock. I mean in one day I befriended the Elements of Harmony, destroyed golems, saved Ponyville, became the new Element of Magic, defeated Pandora, got kissed by you and your friends, I became a hero to everypony in Equestria, and now I am your student.

Twilight Sparkle: You did say that you wanted me to teach you the Magic of Friendship back when we were facing Pandora.

Statice: I guess so. Hey, I’m sorry for taking your Element away from you. It’s my fault that you…

[Twilight Sparkle hugs him]

Twilight Sparkle: Why would I be mad at you? It’s because of you that I got to hang out with my friends on one more adventure. I may not be able to use the Elements of Harmony again, perhaps forever. But as long as I have you as my student…I will always have my friends by my side.

[The rest of the Mane Six looks at Statice and smiles at him reassuringly.]

Twilight Sparkle: Statice as my student… I want you to make a friendship report. Every time that you see a problem I want you to write me a letter telling me what you learned about the Magic of Friendship. You don’t have to do it if you don’t want to. I can always wait for you to give me your answer.

Statice: [sighing] I promise that until I give you back your Element or find somepony else more worthy of using it that I will try to be a decent student. But I’m not teaching you my spells and I’m not learning any spells from you that are of no use to me.

Twilight: [surprised and indignant] What? What do you mean by that? You’re the Element of Magic! You need to expand your spell collection!

Statice: As if learning how to give somepony a moustache or turn apples into oranges is going to save my life, Twilight. I want to learn about Friendship I don’t need to learn about Magic.

Twilight Sparkle: If you want to learn about Friendship then teach me one of your spells as a friend.

Statice: What about respecting your friend’s privacy?

Twilight Sparkle: What about learning the importance of sharing and caring?

[Twilight Sparkle and Statice argue like children causing the rest of the Mane Six and Spike to laugh at them. Twilight and Statice stop arguing to look at them and then suddenly begin laughing.]

Twilight Sparkle: Statice…regardless of your behavior…I’m glad that you are my successor, my student, and my friend.

[Twilight hugs Statice and kisses him in the forehead. Statice gets surprised but smiles warmly at her. He looks at the rest of the Mane Six and smiles warmly at them.]

Statice: Girls…I’m glad to have become your friend.

[Statice and the Mane Six go back to the balcony and wave at everypony in Equestria. They are all very happy that peace has returned to Equestria as they celebrate Statice being the new Element of Magic. The episode ends and the credits roll.]
